1  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / 1992 Nissan Maxima radio mounting. on: January 02, 2004, 06:51:17 PM
Hello,

I am interested in any ideas about mounting a Yaesu 1500M transceiver in a 1992 Nissan Maxima. The car doesn't seem to have a lot of mounting options as far as I can see. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Jeff

3  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / 2M glass mnt. and defroster wiring on: October 18, 2002, 08:59:12 PM
I use the Iron Horse 2M through-the-glass antenna on my truck and want to move it to my Nissan Maxima. The problem is that my car has the defroster wiring and an auxillary antenna built onto the window. The auxillary antenna is near the roof line of the window with the defroster directly underneath it. Would it be possible to scrape some of the car radio antenna off the window with a razor blade? Would this effect car radio reception?

Thanks!

4  eHam Forums / Licensing / GMRS or Family radio in South America? on: April 30, 2002, 01:59:26 PM
My father-in-law, a missionary to Ecuador for 10 years, is needing a radio system to connect his offices with their ophanage about 6 miles away. I would like to know if the popular 2-way family radios or in particular, the General Mobile Radio System is allowable or even on the bandplan in Ecuador?

Thanks again to those that have helped in previous forum questions I have posted!!

5  eHam Forums / Licensing / Which license/test required for Ecuador operation? on: April 24, 2002, 09:10:17 PM
My father-in-law is a missionary in Ecuador and would benefit from amateur radio there, but I was unable to answer his question about the needed permit required to operate in-country. Does anyone know? Does the U.S. license receive any recognition there? He would be communicating in Spanish if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

6  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / 2M Collinear mount on a small pickup. on: April 13, 2002, 02:57:12 PM
I have a 1994 Mazda B3000, the same as a Ford Ranger, with an extended cab. I have a 2M Hamstick Collinear, near 7 ft. tall. Any suggestions on how to mount this antenna? I'm sure this ground has been covered before. I would like to get the antenna's base higher than the bumper if possible or practical. Thanks!
7  eHam Forums / Antennas and Towers and more / Type of coax for 150-200 underground use? on: October 12, 2001, 07:56:26 PM
I want to run some coax from my house to a mast-mounted Hy-gain 14-element, 2M beam. Which type/designation of coax should I use since I want to bury the line between the shack and the mast? Also the run would be approximately 150 feet.

Thanks!
8  eHam Forums / Elmers / What's known about Tenna supplies? on: January 21, 2001, 10:49:22 AM
Does anyone know about a power supply with the namebrand Tenna? National Electronics sales the line on the web, but I haven't been able to find any more reviews or information anywhere else. Has anyone ever had a bad or good experience with these units? Thanks!
9  eHam Forums / Elmers / HT as a base rig. on: January 17, 2001, 09:31:22 AM
I have a Alinco DJ-195 HT and Heathkit amp. (5 watts in, 40 watts out.) What kind of power supply should I have to power the amp. if I wanted to use these two as a base rig? Is there a power supply that could power both units?
10  eHam Forums / Elmers / HT mobile mount? on: January 14, 2001, 05:33:30 PM
I plan on using my Alinco DJ-195 HT as a mobile unit, complete with an antenna and amp, in my truck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a quick disconnect mount?
