I am looking for a Drake Elmer, Someone who lives in the Dayton - Columbus, Ohio area who would be willing to Elmer me on testing and repair of Drake C Line series radios. I don’t have the equipment or knowledge to do this myself and maybe I am too old to learn, but I will give it my best effort.  I would be willing to compensate my Elmer for the time spent teaching / repairing the equipment. Has anyone mounted a HF rig in a Chevy Equinox? I am mounting a Yaesu FT-857D in my 2011 Chevy Equinox, using the separation kit and need advice on where to mount the radio,  the head and where to get power for the radio.

The Yaesu FT-920 I have had the extended transmit mod done and I want to change that back
to transmit in band only. I know that I have to reconnect the green wire but
then do I have to go into the menu and change something there?? Thanks for the

I need to know what Kam TNC with what version of firmware will send Audio CW on FM. The reason I am asking is that I did have a KAM and I sent practice CW on 2 Meter FM with a KAM but I can't remember exactly what I had. I do remember that I had to buy a upgraded eprom to get mine to work. A few local hams are interested in learning the code and have asked me to help, so if I can find a KAM TNC to do the job I will be willing to help them. Thanks in advance for all replies. My refund has arrived in my PayPal account. Product was ordered from Polyvector on 1/31/08, never delivered, no response to my emails or phone calls. I finally got my refund on 4/15/08 only after I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section. The Ohio AG's Office mailed Russ Starksen at Polyvector a copy of the complaint I filed with them and He then did respond with a refund to my PayPal account. I don't know if or when I would have gotten any responce from him had I not filed complaint with Ohio AG's Office. I won't do business again with Polyvector, which also operates under the name qslshack.com.

Add me to the list, I ordered several items from PolyVector on 1/31/08 and paid by PayPal. Didn't get any answer to my Emails or Phone calls, so I contacted PayPal and filed a claim. PayPal decided in my favor, but guess what? Can't get a refund because no funds in his account. Looks like he knows how to take money out but not able keep any money in  for refund. I also wish I had done a search here before I sent my money. I was suprized at how long he has been providing this kind of service. Buyer Beware!!!

I have a MFJ-1275M that I run Slow Scan with and now want to do Packet and other modes. Can anyone sugest software that is operator friendly? I don't mind spending a few bucks to get good software. I have tried a trial copy of Mix W but it isn't very easy for me to get setup. Thanks in advance for all sugestions.

Update, The Interface would transmit on HF in AM,RTTY and FM mode but not in SSB mode. I kicked the Compressor in and I have output on HF SSB. The power is down but I did transmit a picture on 10 Meters. Mike gain is set to 5 and on SSB phone the rig works great.

I am having a SSTV problem with an Icom 706MK2G and a MFJ1275M Interface. I can get output on 2 meter on FM and USB but when I got to HF, 10 or 20 Meters I get no output at all. It keys the transmitter but no output. I am thinking that I don't have the 706 set right for SSTV. All help appreciated.

How's your memory? I remember buying a two meter transceiver back in the 60's at Sears Roebuck. The reason I bought it there was I could get it on credit, being a family man on a tight budget, this was the only way I could afford it. Does anyone remember this radio, what make and model they sold? All I can remember is it was two meter mobile transceiver and was black. I am not  even sure if it was am or fm. I need a little help with MFJ 1278 TNC commands. I haven't used it for years and don't know what happened to the software. I now run a KAM so helping to get it running again has been a battle. I donated the TNC to a disabled ham in the area that I am trying to help get it running.. The problem we are having is when we try to connect it says" not while sever enabled " Also when we try to put his call in mail box with the mymcall command it doesn't recognize the command. We are using hyper terminal to run the TNC. Would it be better to use MFJ software and where is the software available? All replies greatly appreciated, Thanks, Ralph
