1  eHam Forums / Elmers / Icom 756 PRO III Opinions on: December 13, 2006, 04:16:50 AM
I have always been a die-hard IC-765 fan. I owned two of them and never really used the spare unit.

Two weeks ago I took the plunge and purchased a very slightly used 756 PRO III.

Being very honest I had no idea the digital noise reduction could be so good. My trusty old 765 was full
of quite expensive filters. I like the idea of not having to purchase them again.

I suppose you can tell my first impressions of my new
HF rig are "Why didn't I do this sooner"

I donlt really operate SSB much, but more of a C/W op.
What a pleasure.

My recommendation to anyone contemplating this purchase is:

GO FOR IT

Doug, I agree.

I've had several dealings with Scott over the years.

All very good.

4  eHam Forums / Elmers / LDG RT-11 vs. Icom AH-4 on: July 23, 2003, 09:05:15 AM
Philip, I have used the AH-4 for several years.

I run about 15' of RG-213 to the coupler and one leg

of a 500' loop to one side of the coupler and the

other leg of the loop to the coupler ground.

Simply stated it works "GREAT", All bands 160 - 6

Using an Icom 746 or an 706 MKIIG. My loop is only up

some 40' and primarily a cloud burner (NVIS) I work

my share of Stateside / DX contacts.

It couples fast and tunes 1.5:1 or lower.

I could not ask for more, I remove it and use in my

P/U at times with a 102" whip and a Hustler Ball Mount

on the rear or a Diamond Tool Box, works F/B there

also. Never tried 160 mobile but tunes 75 fine.

One of the better investments I've made in Ham

Radio since 1965.

Hope this helps a little in your decision making.
