If the 756 is anything like the 746, then there is an ACC jack on the rear of the rig for PTT from an external source. All that is needed is a simple transistor switch from the RTS or DTR pin of the Com port on the computer. In the Option menu on MMSSTV there is a place to configure the com port of the computer for PTT. Example of transistor switch circuit on: http://www.g3vfp.org/files/ptt.jpg

See my post on the Digital forum here. Would say that Pin 6 on ACC (2) is not connected to PTT when you want to send on 2 meters. All it should need is a simple on-off-on single pole switch to change from pin 3 HSEND to pin 6 VSEND on ACC (2) on the 746 side, IMHO.

Possible that the MFJ Unit may have to be modified so that you can key either pin 3 - HSEND or pin 6 - VSEND via a switch on ACC (2). Don't see any reason why you can not pass audio through on VHF if you can on HF? Have a home brew interface with the IC-706 and that is almost the same ACC pin layout, has HSEND and VSEND pins and use a on-off-on single pole switch between HF and 2 meters for SSTV and a little Packet on FM.

Is there a V-Send on the IC-746 like the IC-706 has for VHF? It is additonal pin from H-Send on the 706, there maybe a menu item related to this also. Have a switch to change from H-Send to V-Send, but some say you can tie the two together with no ill effects.

If it is a radiated signal and ends up on the ham bands, the equipment manufacturer or cable company are just as responsible as you if you were the cause of the interference. Had a case of where the cable was leaking in an apartment building, right on two meters where I moniotr a repeater. I sent an email to ARRL, RFI department and they gave me all kinds of help and were willing to help me fix the problem. The cable TV companies are a secondary user on our ham bands. I solved the problem by moving to a different location, not because of the RFI, but the apartment building is going to be demolished late this year or early next year and would have to move out. But did get some good advice from the ARRL.

Dan, Have you tried some of the links listed under "Ham Links", and "Commercial Coax/Wire/Connectors"? CABLE X-PERTS, INC, Davis RF, Nemal Electronics, The Original Wireman, etc.

Have you tried adjusting the pot inside the Rascal for lower audio input? Have you used the slider on the audio mixer program to lower the speaker output audio level? It is suggested that you adjust the transmit output for full output (100 watts) in the SSB mode and use the audio adjustments to control the power output of the transmitter. Please view this web page, it will explain everything you should do to keep from interference down on PSK: http://www.waypoint.com/users/~discobay/section_7.htm

No the stations do not show on the GPS unit. You use the GPS unit to send your location to the APRS digipeater and the GPS unit is connected to a TNC and computer and APRS software and a laptop computer or PDA. You receive the other stations via the digipeater and that is decoded by the TNC and displayed on the computer with the APRS software. Info :http://www.tapr.org/tapr/index.html

Might try backing down the receive level a bit under Configue menu, Waterfall drive. Found that sometimes a real strong signal will show the effect your seeing, almost like receiver overload. As far as signal report goes use your best judgment like one would with a CW signal. There is a movement out about changing the psk31 reporting, they are calling PSB. Some discussion on this method is on the Yahoo egroup psk31: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/psk31/
