Terry, Have you updated the driver for the soundcard to XP driver? Sounds like it might be a hardware issue as it happened after install of XP. Also contact the company who makes the soundcard and find support for the product. Also there was a update from Microsoft XP updates where the speaker icon failed to remain in the quick launch of the task bar, there was a patch for that, maybe related?

Then the transmit audio should appear on the michrophone connector. If you can take an extra speaker, even a cheap radio shack earpeice would work, clip leads, safety pins for "probes", tip and sleeve of the connector, trace the audio from the speaker output of the computer, through, in and out of the Rigblaster and to the michrophone jack. Have had occassion where the jumper listing for Rigblaster is not quite correct and you might have to "play" with the jumper settings. Look at the schematic of the Rigblaster itself and trace the audio "path". Make the volume slider on the speaker output on the soundcard mixer program at maximum when you try this, there should be LOTS of audio present on the speaker output, maybe several volts AC RMS. Or maybe the level of audio going to the transciever michrophone connector is not high enough?

AGWPE is a soundcard Packet Engine, so the audio does go out on the speaker output of the soundcard. The serial cable connection Com Port provides the PTT function and the speaker audio should be wired through the interface to the audio input of the transciever transmit audio. Would think that the Rigblaster does this correctly for you. Have someone else close by monitor your transmit frequency and listen to see if there are any data burst tones going out. Even a handheld will help, remove the HT antenna so the handheld isn't "swamped" to bad.

On the TS-2000 Press "8"/AGC then under the SUB receiver indicator there will be a small " bar graph", you can change the AGC time constant, 20 steps slow to fast with the MULTI/CH control, press "8" again to return to normal SUB display.

Not sure about the Yeasu radios, but with Kenwood HT's in the menu setting there is a setting to enable the computer to radio link. If this link is not set the error "can not communicate" appears.

By monitoring of "dead" satellite beacon frequencies maybe you will find one that came back to "life" as AO-7 did in the past year after being "dead" for twenty some years. AO-7 is still going, is is weak and the mode it goes into can not be controlled as it is on solar power only and resets often when coming out of eclipse, so monitor both beacons. A lot of the satellites listed on the AMSAT list have links to those who have the most recent information so one has to do a little research. Much like finding out what HF bands are open when, you can check the propagation sites. Part of the "magic" of amateur radio.

Have the RF output set for 100 Watts PEP, then use the audio input from the soundcard to indicate 20 to 25 watts on PSK31 on the power output meter. Sliders for wave and speaker output not more than half scale, have mine set at the second from the bottom "bar". This will provide good IMD and won't cause broad signals to be tranmitted and interference to other users on the band. Yes conditions have been bad, but just like every other mode, you need to "live with them", things will get better sooner or later. Increase from 25 to 50 Watts might improve signal strength on the other end, but also cause bad IMD products and interfernence to other users.
