I guess I'm old fashioned, I have better luck ordering anything by landline, that goers for anything that I ortder. I would rather call and talk to someone in person. But for browsing cheaphams websight, it was real easy for me.

I just placed a small order with this company the other day and was very happy with doing buisness with them. They were nice and pleasant on the phone while placing my order. I ordered my items on wed. PM and had them on sat. AM at my door, fast service for shure. Everything was packed well and they even threw in a nice pen for free. I will definatly order from them again.Good buisness people.

I have a Yaesu FRG-100 SW radio and it is GREAT. It receives from 100 kc up to 30 mhz. Great little table top radio and sells for about 600 bucks.

I recently purchased a new Yaesu FT-60 HT at Texas Towers and that is rather difficult for me to program. Also bought a new Uniden BC92XLT scanner and that was a pain in the butt to program also. I just keep things that I do on them to the basics. If I try and do some of the advanced functions I run into problems.

9  eHam Forums / Misc / RE: User Impression of the TS-570SG on: April 26, 2013, 06:50:13 AM
I agree with everyone here about the 570. I have had mine for 13 years also. The DSP and NB do not do much at all for me, I usually leave them all off. But all of the other features of the radio are good. It is a good solid radio with good TX audio and receiver is pretty good too. But the items previously mentioned are just about useless for me. Have a good day and 73  Jim W5JJG

I live about 8 miles away from their shop here in the Dallas area. I can say that on the phone or in person I have only received nothing but good, honest and friendly service from them always.    Jim W5JJG
11  eHam Forums / Antennas and Towers and more / RE: 2 meter dipole basics? on: April 23, 2013, 07:28:55 AM
I built a real easy to make vertical dipole designed by W7LPN. It is made of quarter inch copper tubing and PVC. It works real well with my FT-60r talkie. It works for 440 also. Google W7LPN Vertical Dipole and it will show you how to make one. Good luck Jim and 73  W5JJG

I am sure that they make more than 25 or 30 dollars on a 2000 dollar rig. If they only made that much profit I dont think that they could stay in buisness. Just my thoughts.
14  eHam Forums / Misc / RE: Hacking an Atomic Clock on: April 17, 2013, 01:31:53 PM
I have one very similar to that clock, LaCross and mine has a setting to either go manual settings with the time or go auto which would activate the atomic settings. check the manual under settings, maybe yours does the same.
