Does anyone know of a way to find the number of registered Amateurs in a given county? From what I see on the ULS is you can search by state or city, but not by county. Any thoughts?

No, It is not a software issue, what I am talking about is actual interference with the reception on the rig itself, not with the computer.
I believe I have a grounding issue and WMR seems to think the same, but I don't know how to fix it because I am on the 2nd floor of an apartment building using an Endfed Random Wire Antenna.
Thoughts?

I want to operate HF primarily on 80/40/20/10 meters. I live in a 2 floor apartment with no balcony and restrictions that say no antenna outside. Any ideas?
I've been looking at an end fed wire antenna from Maple Leaf Studios

I am definitely looking to learn CW. That is actually my next learning piece in Ham Radio. That is kind of my motivation to get on HF is to learn CW and make harder to reach contacts eventually.
What are some good methods or programs to learn code?

Welcome aboard! We will need to know much more about your QTH to talk about antennas and the like. So only some general comments. 1. Do you have a local elmer to consult with, about antennas, gear, operation, and other stuff? 2. When you acquire (or borrow) a rig, plan first of all to LISTEN to different bands and modes. See what you like. 3. 40 meters: pretty much always open, DX at night, local contacts during the day, not extremely competitive, antennas can be reasonable insize. 4. Digital modes and CW do not require great amounts of power or big antennas for lots of fun.
Good luck and 73, Bill WA8FOZ
I am in Rock Hill SC, I live in a Town House. We have two floors, the good news is that we are on the end and not in the middle. We have a back patio with a storage closet and a small-width privacy fence. Not really any trees around though. Thanks for all the advice so far everyone.

An inexpensive 108-inch CB whip can be matched to any ham band, with homemade networks, and is an inexpensive way to operate mobile. And you can make some half-wavelength antennas fed at the ends with quarter-wave sections of coax for tossing up into nearby trees when you need to.
How would you setup the CB Whip to work on the bands? Are there mods needed? I don't have a lot of experience working with antennas although I have built a couple of J-Poles for 2 meters and 70 cm.

I have my general license but still haven't left the world of 2 meters, not that there is anything wrong with two meters, but I really want to dive into the world of HF.
What suggestions does everyone have about equipment and antennas? I'm on an EXTREMELY limited budget as I am a newlywed, and I also live in an apartment townhouse so I will need to operate relatively stealth.

I did a reset on my unit now I don't have access to all of the RX spectrums such as air band and WX as well as AM and FM radio. Thoughts?
