I've been blessed to win one of these rigs. I thank you and everyone who responded. There will be a new pro 3 in my shack. I've heard of and read about the ic7600. But now is now.

So you never avail yourself of other opinions, experiences? I like to consider as much information as possible, including research, opinions, etc. I've gotten alot of that from your website and always appreciated it. Still, glad you took the time to respond.

What would you choose as a general transceiver used for ragchewing/dx/contesting, etc. Icom Pro3; Yaesu FT-2000 or Tentec Omni VII?

A few questions on this amp:
The AC power requirements list AC 230V 10A max recommended for stability. Will using the amp with an existing 240V 15A circuit be harmful? Any plug limitations?
For the Kenwood 570d does the amp use the RS-232C connector for band change data? Does this mean you'll no longer be able to use that connector for computer controlled applications? Or is that something that could exist with the old fashioned switch box?
Thanks

Any remaining users of this logging program or former users remember how to get out of date sync QSOs back in date order? Thanks

>>My Garmin GPSMap 276C accepts waypoints from my TM-D700A. I think they added that feature to a revision of the NMEA standard. The earlier version of NMEA did not have that feature, the newer version does. Sorry, but I don't remember any version numbers for where the change was made. 73, de Tom, KA1MDA www.ka1mda.org<< What type of serial connector does this gps have? I looked at a picture in the online manual and can't really tell. Is it the round type that cobines power & serial data? Do you use it in your vehicle or boat? Most of the newer gps' don't seem to have the bi directional (or any) serial connector so apprecoate your feedback. 73 de John, ks4xn

>>THD7AG, call sign programmed, set for relay, wide, tried wide 1-1,wide2-1, Deluos GPS mouse. Battery power only right now, planning on running a 12volt supply line, but still, I should be visible, shouldnt I?<<
A couple of yrs ago the format changed here in Gainesville and AFAIK elsewhere. This may already what you're doing but just in case here are the new instructions we received then:
"If you are mobile use the following UNPROTO Path: APRS,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2 <= WIDE1-1 now replaces RELAY or APRS,WIDE1-1,WIDE3-3 <= To be used in very remote areas.
Never use WIDE4-4 unless you're traveling West of the Mississippi River.
Depending on APRS software you use APRS may have to be first in the string for the UNPROTO Path. Some software versions do this automatically such as WinAPRS, UI-View requires APRS in the string. Read your software manual.
Hardware APRS devices such as Kenwood's TH-700 (Mobile) and TH-7 (HT) refer to your manuals for proper setup using WIDEn-N parameters. Please do NOT turn the DIGI Beacon. If you are parked for any length of time set the BEACON rate to at least 10 to 30 minute intervals before exiting the vehicle. Not doing this and having BEACON rate at 1 minute is just as bad as sending RELAY,WIDE,WIDE because it is creating unnecessary QRM on the channel when stationary.
This would also apply to other devices such as TinyTrak, Pocket Tracker, and Open Tracker. Use the MIC-E setting in these devices unless you are part of an SAR Team (Search And Rescue) then turn on the Smart Beaconing feature for these devices."

You're right. But that's the nature of the beast on the net. I've made that same multiple posting mistake. I didn't think the post worked and hit enter or whatever the keystroke was and ended up with 2 or 3 identical posts. It's almost more the fault of the software. Those who are perfect don't have to worry about such things. I laughed at myself as I often do when I mess up and that makes me feel better about it... 73 de John, ks4xn

There's a section in the help pages that deals with firewalls & routers. The latter ofter requires port forwarding information to be listed in the router's setup. Hope this gets you on the right track. Good Luck & 73 de John, ks4xn

I'm not as smart as some so it took me a year to go from tech to extra in 94-95. I had the advantage of studying, upgrading and operating as I went along. Some great articles in qst & cq helped so much with repeater practices to dx techniques and getting on the air was the real education both locally and on hf.
Whatever you do, keep yourself interested, immersed and enjoy the journey. 73 de John, ks4xn.
