I have both the Comet B-10NMO and the Larsen NMO2/70 bk
The Larsen is CLEARLY the champ and I use it when I need fringe coverage.
But the B-10 is what I use 90% of the time since it's only 12 inches long and inconspicuous.
It works nearly as well as a 1/4 wave on 2 meters, and it has excellent performance and pattern on 440.

YES,
As with all of these illegal radios, they transmit where hams are NOT allowed to be.
The FCC is now on a mission to fine and prosecute any and ALL involved in the illegal sale and use of these radios in the US so don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

The good?
They are cheap knock offs of GOOD radios.
The bad:
They are poorly made of poor quality materials by slave labor.
They are illegal for sale or use in the US and subject the seller or user to license suspension, heavy fines, and jail time.
Summary:
It NEVER pays to be a CHEAPSKATE!

The B-10 is a great little antenna, I use one every day. Big performance from a very small antenna
Check out jefatech.com
they have 195 low loss for 37 cents a foot. only 7.77db loss per 100ft at 450mhz and same size as rg58

If omni directional is what you want, the Hustler G6-144 is the best. The fiberglass antennas won't last long and are easily damaged by electrical discharge and high power levels. The hustler will survive 100mph wind and handle 600 watts I installed a Hustler G6 for a local fire department 25 years ago and it's still being used today! BUILT LIKE A TANK IN THE USA

You should be just fine. Just be sure the barrel connection is snug and well wrapped with coax seal. And depending on coax length, you may want to use a preamp. Now if you were TRANSMTTING at 800mhz, you would want to avoid the PL-259s and barrel splice due to RF heating.

Go with any half wave design
All those gain claims are usually hype
1/4 wave and 5/8 antennas work poorly on hts without a groundplane
I have a Maldol MH-209SMA and it's great on 2 meters but just ok on 440.
And a Comet SMA-503 that works well on 440 but just ok on 2 meters.
My Diamond RH77CA works well on 2 meters as well as 440
