I recently purchased a Yaesu Ft-847,  open for any suggestions or advise.

I need a good repeater program software for the FT-847. Does anybody know of a good free download.

I'm not giving up just yet, but just in case I get tire of looking I'll take that into consideration.

Thanks again

Hi Steve/G3TXQ

I've tried to find the FT240-52 core but is nearly impossible to find. I Visit Mouser on their Website and they have a 3 weeks waiting period for the core. Is there any other solution?

Hi Steve
Is this for a single or double stacked toroids?

Thanks Lee for your response. I've seen the kit by Amidon but I still want to be able to use 1.5 K if I needed to, not that I do it all the time but pile-ups some times gets hard to brake in to and that little extra kick comes in handy. HiHi

Thanks

I'm in the process of building a 12/17 Dual Beam 2-El.-Open-Sleeve-Yagi which can be found here. http://www.dxzone.com/cgi-bin/dir/jump2.cgi?ID=23310

Huh The Isolation Current Balun showing is the W1JR Current Balun with a Amidon FT-140-66 ferrite core which is no longer available by Amidon. I know sometimes is easier to go and buy one but since I'm home brewing the Beam I want it all to be home brew. Any suggestions of which ferrite core to use and turns "(capable for legal limit)"

Hi Paul

Sorry about your rig, I love mine and hope it would out last me. I chase DX as you can see from my call sign and I've done very well with the 1000MP just hate to spend an hour waiting for an opening, that's why I bought a legal limit Amp. I will basically only use over 1k for new countries only. I was using an AL-811H and was doing well other than sometimes waiting too long to get through.

Thanks aging for slapping me over the head to regained my two senses.  Cheesy

I think I'm going to take Paul's/NN4F advise and just leave the rig stock. I think I can drive close to legal limit with 80w anyway.

Yes 106 watts on 80 and 40 M and 20-10m 80 watts at the middle of each band not on the bands edge.

I'm using a DL2K Palstar as a Dummy load, also using an LP-100A Digital Meter. By the way in 40m and 80m it shows improvement of 106 Watts. According to Mark-V owners when you twick the VR3003 clockwise you can adj it to even close to 200w, not that I want to take it to that extreme but would like 110w more or less since my new amp is a legal limit QRO Amp and needs 110w to make it 1500w happy.

Huh I'm experiencing low RF power out when operating barefoot. The radio is only maxing out 80 watts after adjusting the RF POWER dial (VR3003) to its max,  I only gained 10 watt from my previous power out of 70 watts. What could be the problem here?

That's exactly my problem. Don't know which one to choose.

Huh   I'm in the process of purchasing an Amp and had my eyes on either an Acom 1000 or a QRO 2000. I know they both are a fantastic Amps but maybe I can get some feedback from someone who has or have had experience with them.

I'll appreciate your input.
