Antennas DO NOT cause intermod or "bleedover" if you will. Hacked radios cause harmonics. I never can understand why CB ops always say this antenna bleeds and that antenna doesnt. Just one mans opinion...

I pretty much avoid any and all ham clubs. They are all about politics, and most of the guys are unfriendly towards newcomers. I just do my own thing and enjoy the hobby as it is. I dont need any club drama in my life...

I mostly avoid ham clubs. IMHo they are nothing but crap. Im in a model train club and we have fun operating and working on the club layout which fills the entire basment of a restored train depot. Everyone has fun and everyone gets along and shares interests unlike the ham clubs here that are all about bickering and putting down people... I have more fun with the train club than ANY ham club ive ever been to. Like the previous poster said theres more to life than ham radio.....

Just in the news this morning, VISA is going to offer "direct person to person" payments to compete with Paypal.....I would LOVE to see a reputable company put Paypal out of business once and for all.
Yeah Paypal and Ebay wont allow that to happen!!! It will be a cold day in heck when they allow any other method other than Paypal to be used. I have had customers pay me with a money order but it has to be done "under the table" or Ebay will suspend my account. |

It seems to me that Ebay and Paypal are tring to discourage small time sellers from using both Ebay and Paypal. I sell stuff on Ebay from time to time, maybe twice a month just to have some pocket change, but now that they are going to do the 21 days money transfer thing i think im going to find another way to make some cash. They can stick it!

I PLACED AN ORDER ON FEB.5,2011 MY VISA WAS CHARGED FEB. 10,2011
I KNEW FROM THE START THAT THE PRODUCT WOULD TAKE ABOUT A MONTH
WHEN I PLACED ORDER I WAS GIVEN A DEAL PRICE SINCE ONE OF THE ANTENNAS WHICH WAS FOR 440
WAS THE OLD STYLE AND JUST ABOUT COMPLETE SINCE IT WAS OLD NEW STOCK AND THE 2METER ANTENNA HAD TO BE MADE.
COOL I GET A SET OF GREAT ANTENNAS AND A GOOD DEAL ON THE OLDER STYLE.
WELL A MONTH PASSED AND WITH SEVERAL CALLS TO PETE AND I WAS TOLD ABIT LONGER.
AFTER TWO MORE WEEKS SEVERAL MORE CALLS AND SAD TO SAY SOME WITH ABIT OF ANGER ON MY PART.
WELL AGIAN APRIL 5TH I CALLED AGAIN WAS TOLD NEXT WEEK.LATEST WOULD BE MONDAY I CALL AGAIN APRIL 13TH AND AT THIS TIME I WAS NOT HAPPY
PETE DID ALL HE COULD TO BE PLEASANT AND SAID THEY SHIPPED I ASKED MONDAY no TUESDAY THE 12TH OF APRIL,I WAS SO EXCITED.
I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET TRACKING NUMBER AFTER WAS TOLD NO TRACKING NUMBER COMES WITH USPS PARSEL POST MAILING BUT I SAID GIVE ME CONFIRMATION NUMBER I WAS TOLD THERE IS NONE.
AFTER AN OTHER WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT THE POST OFFICE TAKES LONG SOMETIMES I THEN RESPONDED WITH IF I DO NOT SEE THEM BY THURSDAY THE 20TH I AM DISPUTING THE CHARGES AND YOU CAN KEEP THE ANTENNAS.I WAS THEN TOLD WAIT ACOUPLE MORE DAYS,THIS WAS HE NEVER SENT THEM UNTIL
APRIL 23,2011.i REFUSED THEM AND THE USPS MARKED THE PACKAGE AND SHIPPED BACK COMPANYS EXSPENCE.I WAS THREATENED IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO
THEM OR THEY GET LOST I WILL BE SUED.
I WAS ALSO TOLD BY PETE THAT HE STRECTHED THE TRUTH CAUSE I WAS ALWAYS CALLING LIKE AN OTHER CUSTOMER AND HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
YOU COULD OF BEEN STRIAGHT AND HONEST WITH ME SH**& HAPPENS I WOULD NOT LIKED IT BUT I WOULD OF BOUGHT THEM.

I've always thought ham radio was a hobby someting to have as something to have fun with and not get all bent out of shape about. I guess if one doesnt like what he/she hears one can always just shut off the radio and walk away! I dont let the crap and bad ops stress me out.

About time to get it fixed, with sunspots getting ready to come back and the band to open up. Maybe get it fixed just in time to work some good DX. My question of the day-why do all CB radios have a PA function built in? Is it so you can drive around, and announce, "Hey there, I am an official CB operator and stand by for some sort of announcement!"
HA! I ask myself that question myself!! Even the big base radios that are far from being used mobile have a PA function. The 1011 is a glorified CB from the CB boom years and at best it is pure junk. It drifts worse than an untied boat and the best place for it is the junk parts bin. The final tube is worth more than the rig itself... |
