In this particular instance, the only reset allowed is the one that clears everything.

A friend of mine has a Yaesu FT-270R which went into password protection mode all by itself which prevents the radio from being used.  He never configured a password.

The remedy Yaesu lists in the manual is a hard reset which will delete all 110 of his memory channels.  He's not tech savvy enough to reprogram the radio and leaves on a trip one week from today.  This means I will likely have to drive the 60 miles to do it for him, unless there's a way around this problem.

I wonder if Yaesu has an undocumented master password to unlock it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I frankly don't have time to drive to his house this week.
