My ic-735 receives excellent on all bands, transmits perfectly except on 17,15,12,10 meters. Has worked excellent until now.Wont tx on mentioned bands, also has high amp draw from power supply, freq display also dims during attempted tx. Some say it could be my low pass filter components that went bad. any suggestions, and how hard would it be to fix.Any ideas would be helpful.

The AT-150 is designed for that radio,i have one. There should be a cable with tuner that connects the tuner to radio,it plugs into the back of radio in one of those round openings.Make sure that you plug cable into proper place. One receives a 8 pin male and another receives a 7 i believe. The at-150 is automated and a great tuner. make sure that you get the connection cable with it

I hope im not to late with my comments on G5RV, but its good antenna.I do have mine flattopped 45ft high.I have the G5RVe .Important to never let the twin feed that connects to coax come in contact with any metal support, atleast 8-10in away,Never cut the twin lead for any reason, the length is very important,as well as the length of coax that may come with antenna.Keep twin lead straight and vertical,at the coax feed i have mine chocked with either 8 or 10 turns of coax just after the connector. With good ground system it has worked on 160 mtrs..But im mostly on 20.Good antenna, good luck 73's Ron

eHam Forums / QRP / How to reduce power on icom-735 ?
|
on: December 05, 2003, 09:50:04 AM

When my power switch on panel is bottomed out ,i still read 10 wts. Question is how can i reduce power from 10 to like 5 wts without adding external equipment. Is there a pod of some sort like most smaller radios to reduce power. The radio is equipped with a 100 or 50 watt switch internally, even if i select 50 for max output, the radio will still put 10 watts minimun
