2  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / DR-600 Repairs needed OR for sale. on: May 07, 2001, 11:23:13 PM
Bought this radio from a Mr. French in  Booneville,Ar.
Bought it expecting it to work.
No problems with unit disclosed in e-mails between myself and seller before sending $$$.
Heres what I got:

Memory doesn't hold. (New battery tried)
Ocasionally display shows just 1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 on both sides, then clears after numerous resets.
Numbers on mike worn off.
LCD display has dark (but readable) area on left side.

Tried to contact Mr. French numerous times thru e-mail. No Joy.

I can live with the mike numbers pad, but are the other problems repairable.

Is this worth repairing or have I been......... RIPPED OFF........by a fellow ham???
Paid $260.00 for it.

Jim,.... S. King fan.......are you there???

Ticked off in Maine,
Dan
3  eHam Forums / Elmers / Alinco/Yaesu hand Mikes'.....Interchangable? on: April 17, 2001, 02:12:21 AM
I have purchased a old Alinco DR-600T and the hand mike is wasted (cosmetically).
Can I substitute the Yaesu MH-31
Not interested in the Alinco functions on the old mic at the present time.

They both have the same 8 pin plug, but are they wired the same?

I have had mine (FT-847)for about 3 weeks, and have the MFJ-4035MV
I like the extra power outlets for powering the YS-60 SWR meter, and my other goodies.
They are on the front and very accessable.
I also like the variable power from 5-20 Vdc, and the seperate meters.
No problems yet......

FT-847 GuRus....I am (as you can tell) new to Amateur Radio. I have in my posession,
                   FT-847/FC-20 antenna tuner/YS-500 SWR meter/YS-60 SWR meter/GP-15 triband
                   antenna/CFX-5114N triplexer/and a G5RV.
                   Antennas are up.
I keep running myself around in circles trying to figure the order to hook these up in.
                   PLEASE HELP.
I do not want to fire the rig up until I get everything correct.
The FT-847 Manual only shows hookup for seperate antennas and linear amps.
                   The FT-847 has 4 antenna hookups, 3 pl-259s one N type.

                   So....Whos on first?

                   Thanks, Dan .... KB1FDN@arrl.net
