I searched the net looking for a group for Ham's who are interested in firefighting. Since I found nothing I decided to create a Yahoo Group for Firefighting Hams. If you are interested in checking it out it is located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/firehams/

2  eHam Forums / Elmers / Kenwood TM-G707A Problem on: July 06, 2003, 12:42:30 PM
I recently purchased a Kenwood TM-G707A with the remote extension on Ebay. I know some like Ebay some don't but that's not my point here.
I installed it in my truck and wired it right to the battery etc. I programed it all up yesterday and alpha tagged a few channels too. Then when I went to use it later I found that on every channel it transmitted on a 144.xxx freq. So I figured I'd clear it and do it again. Today I cleared the radio to reenter the freqs. When I did I noticed that I was missing certain menu items especially the one used to enter alpha tags. I entered stuff anyways and when I got about 40 channels entered the same thing with the TX freq of 144.xxx happened!

Has anyone seen this before with their kenwood? Have you had it fixed or found a way to fix it?

Thanks
