After 6 years, found the entrance. From the engine compartment the blue throttle cable comes thru fire wall, if you look toward passenger side ( again you are looking from engine ) about 9 inches to the left and down 1 or 2 inches you will see the black 1/2 or 3/4 in plug. It pops out exposing the insulation from inside.

It takes a little effort to poke through and you are at the back of the center console, so you have to go to one side or the other to fish your wire, there is only about 3/4 inch space, so takes some time to feed the # 8 wire. Of course use some sort of rubber insulator at fire wall to keep wires from shorting out.

Thanks to my bride KE6LOM for helping me figure this out, only took 6 years and 10 tires.

Thanks to all, appreciate your help.

I found the software manual at Wouxun usa site in the package download. It show the pc cable to radio as a 2 pin, like on a external mike.
Mine is a single pin tip ring sleeve type, it came with the radio.
Do other radio brands have the same pin out as the Wouxun, I have every brand except Icom.

Thanks

Thanks for the advise. I did take a razor knife and trim around plug. No luck there. I am running version 1.16 on computer # 4. Not sure what I have on the others.
Keep getting the failed connect error.

Just seems you should not have to depend on luck to get it to work. It is driving be crazy, would have never bought one had I known it has so many problems to program, when I checked only thing I saw was to use software and not manual.

Thanks again for at least trying.

Back to the yahoo group, see what else i can try, maybe opening my right eye while standing on my right foot facing east toward china is the answer.

7  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / Wouxun Software on: April 03, 2011, 09:45:27 AM
I am very dissappointed in the software so far. I am a two way shop for most major brands and have never had this much trouble talking to a radio. I have tried 5 different computers, with 3 different OS. Still no luck. Have checked out the ports, used serial ports, the interface usb cable. Windows state the ports are ok, have moved to port 3, turned radio on after trying to up load , download. And the hand programming is by far the worse I have ever run accross
They need a Rep on the yahoo refelector to get their product to function as promised. And tell for sure how to use the software. So far could not recommend to anyone.

I was trying to find someone, who knew for sure the size and type of cable I should be buying, and the various lengths, I think I want 7/16 gav cable, but not postive.

I do thank you for your thoughs, will make the trip into Reno soon and see what the big city has to offer, if I do not talk to someone who has another ideal, replacing them all is the way to go, thanks for the nudge.

Need to replace cable on 2nd section( next to smallest )Not sure where to buy cable or get instructions on how to do it. So far no answer back from tower folks. Have to be ready in 10 days when help will be in town to help me.

I have pictures if necessary to see my problem. Hopefully I can do it with tower cranked down and in vertical position.

Thanks for any help or ideals

10  eHam Forums / Elmers / D.O.A. Agreement on: September 07, 2009, 01:56:42 PM
All most, but the guy came around and agreed it should work. It also appears a group of people should come up with a statement of Not to be DOA and see if we can get the web host to use it as the standard and make it a Sticky so everyone can understand what it means on the swap list.
11  eHam Forums / Elmers / D.O.A. Agreement on: September 06, 2009, 02:42:42 PM
The seller should make sure it is packed corectly and insured for the proper value, all damged payments go to the shipper any way. The buyer has no say on how well it was packed. I allways offfer for big things suggest we spilt commerical packing at a shippers store, that way they have to agree it was pack correctly.

Would like to come up with a agreeable Deification  of Gurantee not to be DOA. I would think on a radio, that it would receive as rated when new, and transmit at the given power out put with good audio.

Just want to know what your buying, once we agree submit to all the for sale nets. Then if a problem comes up, you could refer to pre set agreement.
