1  eHam Forums / Youth / Handheld Question on: July 22, 2003, 02:55:27 AM
There's alot more to vhf/uhf than FM.
2  eHam Forums / Antennas and Towers and more / Rotor mount on Rohn 25G on: July 22, 2003, 02:50:46 AM
With the proper Hy-Gain "mast adapter", your tri-bander will be under the rated wind load for the rotator...although it's life will be much shorter than a "in tower" mount with proper thrust bearing. Just be sure that your "budget" has allowed for proper guying of that tower.
3  eHam Forums / Clubs / Club Business Structure - Help! on: July 21, 2003, 01:57:02 PM
Why in the world would there be any need for any more repeater clubs in New Hampshire?
4  eHam Forums / Youth / Handheld Question on: July 21, 2003, 01:37:38 PM
Best thing to do is to get a real radio and forget the FM and/or repeater dependence and put up an actual antenna.

Young IHC, you are just too young to understand. Enjoy your channels and the roger beeps.

Vanity k7ihc, I was only trying to keep the kid from locking himself into the FM rut and the cb repeaters...like you have done to yourself.
7  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / 6 meter phone interconnect? on: July 21, 2003, 12:36:49 AM
For the big impending "emergency", it would be simpler, and make much more sense, to just go inside and use the telephone.
8  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / Icom V8000 and IC2100 on: July 21, 2003, 12:33:16 AM
Young YNB, why do you babble that "73" silliness? YOU do not believe in CW, as YOU have cried about it so much. YOU might also learn what bands a tech can operate on with the passing of the element 1 test, kiddo.
9  eHam Forums / Elmers / 2m Repeater QSO guidlines on: July 21, 2003, 12:22:07 AM
10 double 7's. break go break 10-4. Negative contact 10-4. Break go break. "Negative contact"= CB.
10  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / 6 meter phone interconnect? on: July 20, 2003, 04:15:49 AM
Too bad someone didn't tell young Head how to drive when he got his driver's license. Maybe, if they had his insurance premiums might be much lower. About the 2 meter repeaters (cb)...all amateur transmitters are supposed to have a control operator.

Sounds like you plan on being a repeater CBer.
12  eHam Forums / HomeBrew / 2m transceiver kit on: July 18, 2003, 03:06:41 PM
Elecraft is now selling transverter kits for 50, 144, and 222 mhz. They are rated at 20-25 watts output and have full input protection.
13  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / Product Comparisons on: July 18, 2003, 02:52:24 PM
Ask the other locals that you will be working with what frequencies and MODES that you will need. Only they would know what you need.
14  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / 6 meter phone interconnect? on: July 18, 2003, 02:46:46 PM
Sounds like a cellphone would make alot more sense. Who will yolu have at the other end for the control operator if you are in the mobile?
15  eHam Forums / Elmers / 2m Repeater QSO guidlines on: July 18, 2003, 02:38:06 PM
Yes, the socialist state still exists. The taxpayers still have YOU, and many others, on the public dole. Because of socialism, the government is the largest "employer" in the country! There are more taxRECEIVERS than there are taxpayers! The top spenders in Congress are all socialist democrats.
