eHam Forums / Licensing / Get over it! Old Ham vs new Ham

Milo,
You seem like a nice guy. Don't take offense to this but I bet I worked a lot harder to obtain my ticket then you did.
That being said, I am no better than you are and I don't have a better license then you. I just had to work harder to get it.

eHam Forums / Licensing / Waht should be done with Advanced class Lic's

Well, the Advanced Amateurs couldn't pass the old Extra exam so they were always one step away from the top. Almost there but not quit. Still and admirable achievement.
Today they are usually a step above most Extras because their license class alone proves they earned their ticket. They are not like the new Extras that memorize some answers and get a 2X1, 1X2 vanity call and pretend to be old school hams.
That is why most Advanced hams don't want to give up their license class but they would like the Extra privileges. You can't have em both.

There it is folks. If you disagree with the anti-CW bigots you will be called ignorant and a racist. You may even hear comments about how the old CW ops are "dumb as a post" & "too dumb to know how to tie their own shoes."
Welcome to the new ham radio 10-4. Memorize some answers and pretend to be an electronics expert. Where are my slip on shoes, yuk yuk yuk.

Like it or not the hateful anti-code bigots keep bringing these topics up. Apparently so they can rub it the face of the CW ops. Every thread or topic that involves CW they bring this up and dig the knife in deeper. I call it like I see it and I will always know that I earned my license. Those who waited for the CW requirement to be dropped to upgrade will always know thy are inferior. Why heck, I can even tie my own shoes, yuk yuk yuk!!!
Guys, please give it a rest.

If you're not a serious contester or you're just cheap then you should try N1MM. It is free. If you are serious or if you just want the best then you would get WriteLog. It costs about $30.

This is a great thread. I wasn't sure when I read the first post, but now I see that the case of 807s is the way to go. Especially if you're gonna operate around 3840Kc.

Those guys go thru a lot of work and pay a lot out of pocket expenses. Those of us who can afford it should give a little something to support them.
