31  eHam Forums / DXing / SSB today on: July 25, 2009, 02:52:58 PM
I noticed those lids appear a couple KCs away when the DX show up!!!  And then there is that west coast guy who shows up real close to the DX and is calling CQ real long and Checking Propagation Via The Long Path.

They always have wiiiiide signals and only show up when the DX is there!!!
32  eHam Forums / CW / Is CW going to survive? on: July 25, 2009, 02:49:14 PM
I would like to see more new hams get involved in code but I don't think it will happen.  I think code will slowly die off.  I hope I'm wrong.
33  eHam Forums / Elmers / Best looking rig?? on: May 30, 2009, 11:03:42 PM
I love this new Icom IC-756 Pro-III.  You can get these at a bargain now with the new 7600 coming out.

Did you look at the Force 12 C3S or C3SS?  Or are these just too big?

35  eHam Forums / Licensing / Require CW proficiency for Extra Class...? on: May 25, 2009, 07:40:08 PM
I agree with the original author that a simple 5wpm exam for Extra is not too hard.  But our welfare state and licensing system is designed so that any ID1OT can get a license.

But, that's just my opinion.
36  eHam Forums / Contesting / Who's commercial antennas HF are holding up? on: May 25, 2009, 07:04:59 PM
Force 12.  Everything else is just pretending.

But that's just my many years of experience.
37  eHam Forums / CW / Does this bug any of you CW ops out there???? on: March 29, 2009, 04:44:21 PM

39  eHam Forums / Company Reviews / ACOM International. on: March 07, 2009, 08:44:28 PM
I stick by my original post, but I have give the ACOM 2000A amp a 10 out of 10.  This is this is an awesome piece of equipment.  No more of that MFJ junk.  If you want the best this is it.  There is absolutely no better amp.

43  eHam Forums / CW / FISTS Membership Cost Question on: December 13, 2008, 09:02:08 AM
Paul, you are correct in answering your own question in the original post.

I would recommend to you and anyone with any interest in morse code join.  Once you join and get a number, you have the number for life.  Even if you don't renew the following year you retain that number.  You can hang out around 14.058 and hear lots of activity.
