Sounds like a Navy E-2C Hawkeye or Usaf E-3C Awacs radar aircraft to me.  These aircraft are known for high noise levels across all band ie noise floor.

I have used some of the IFR Com 120's service monitors. While cleaning out one of our building, I came across this old Cushman Ce-4000 test set.  Was wondering if any of you may have used one of these?  If so what can you tell me about it. Seems to be in perfect working order.

Hi

  The easy thing to do is to use a battery charger to charge the 12v battery.  The TS-520 will pull the battery down but it all depents on how much you tx. If you need the drawing to convert it to 12vdc. I have them and will be happy to e-mail them to you.
