Northern Ohio DX Association President, Tedd, KB8NW, has been publishing the Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin for twenty years!  What started out as a small bulletin for local hams has grown to over 3200 subscribers worldwide and is read via the internet by many thousands more.

To commemorate this remarkable achievement, NODXA members are having a special event station from March 11 through March 13.  The stations will be on 80-10 meters using SSB and CW.  K8YSE will also provide satellite contacts using the special event call sign.  Information below:

2  eHam Forums / Satellites / RE: Storing cross band splits in memory for Alinco DJ-580 on: January 22, 2011, 04:32:13 PM
Thanks for all the responses.  It appears that the DJ-580 doesn't support this feature.  I thought it did since Criteria #5 at this site states that it does:  http://w4kwh.org/satellite-radios/

3  eHam Forums / Satellites / Storing cross band splits in memory for Alinco DJ-580 on: January 18, 2011, 08:34:54 PM
Hi,

I’m trying to configure my Alinco DJ-580 to work the LEO satellites and I can’t figure out how to store cross band splits in memory.   I would like to have five memory channels that have the same 2 meter transmit frequency with different 440 MHz frequencies to compensate for the Doppler Effect.

I can program large frequency offsets using the “VFO MODE SPLIT” and the “MEMORY MODE SPLIT” described in the manual but only within the same band.  The radio will not accept a 440 MHz frequency when the VHF band is selected or vice-versa.  I’ve found a web page that states that the DJ-580 supports this feature but it didn’t provide any information on how to set it up.  Does anybody know how to do this?
