Re: KA4NMA Reply #11 Thanks for the geography lesson. So the Vatican is something similar to Olongapo City which is surrounded by Luzon that is surrounded by the Philippine Sea whose existence is only recognized by the faithful followers of Saint Branden the Navigator.

This topic got me thinking,it would be interesting to know what study method and original class of license were held by a couple of radio amateurs Nick Telsa and Guiggy Marconi who were quite successful in the hobby after finally getting on the air, tuning up and having their first qso.

Perhaps it is time for a new forum: QRO-the world of 5 watts and above. Where TIME and EASE of doing so is the main priority of those wishing to collect all available wallpaper and DX entities.

With the standard mantra [higher is always better] in mind and depending on local conditions at your qth 22 ft. should give you satifactory results. My hex is on a mast at 23 ft. and no problem with daily 2 way qrp/cw contacts with other hex users in Europe or W.coast USA whose average height is between 20-30 ft. Being on a roof is no problem unless it is metal or in some attics that contain HVAC units which may have some effect, but the experts will have to weigh in on that issue. GL

I believe it was either Sam Clemens or Will Rogers along with Johnny Appleseed that once said "Humor (black or white) and an apple a day will keep the undertaker at bay". Dominus Vobiscum ... _._

Re: G7MRV,K1CJS Reply #6&7
First K1CJS: Yes,definitely drifting into an area of excommunications. With regard to G7MRV's comment on the Cardinal's voting ,it is certainly a valid point, however I did hear that the actual delay was unfortunately due to the two elderly German chemist from Argentina whose previous expertise was in the generation of black smoke and were temporarily confused about the formula for white smoke when the order came down. As for the Protestants they are their own worse enemy since they lack any central organizational skills and no foresight to emulate the Vatican with a bank of their own that would not allow 99.7% of the faithful to have an account in. I often wonder why the Protestants do not have their own College of Parrots and their own spiritual leader.Personally I think it's a little late for Billy Graham, and in the past I'm sure the former Archbishop of Scamalot, Father Ponzi Madoff would have not not been passed over.

Re: TANAKASAN Reply #4
As a member of the "Red Sea Pedestrians Club" perhaps you know a little of it's history.I would be interested in knowing if the original Red Sea Walk-A-Thon event had any Palestinian ARES groups in attendance, they would have been easily recognized by their fluorescent sheepskin vest, shofars and bits of twinkling lights from sprigs of the Burning Bush.If they were, is there any possibility that they had a previous run in and parting of the waves (sic) with another RACES group and therefore had dibs on the event?

Re: G7MRV Reply #2
I didn't realize the extent of the Vatican's Mass communication capabilities it's all Latin (sic) Greek to me,very informative. In reference to your "worlds most effective pyramid selling scheme" did you mean the politically correct term for the Vatican's current stand on birth control or their extensive laundromat franchises the most recent of which just opened on the island of Malta?

WHITE SMOKE, says a lot about the faith that the Vatican City Fathers have in modern day communications. However I did notice several blinking lights and orange vest among the crowd in St.Peter's square, probably the Italian ARES boys authorized and activated by the Swiss Guard.Thank god for CBS.

Re; AF5CC Reply #11
Yes, and as others have said the parameters are adjustable and results are dependent on any particular EMF or other electrical noise issues at your QTH.Definitely rugged with moisture resistant membrane behind all panel controls.Nice mid priced all round rig with simple no hassle menus and operation.

This is a rather hypothetical discussion though, since amateurs will keep volunteering for t those dangerous radio amateurs with their cancer-rays. Maybe the uniforms should be a bright yellow chainmaille suit to proect against the dangerious ham band energy fields? What celebrity would endorse it? William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy, Beam me up to ARIES (sic) ARES Scotty
