1  eHam Forums / Amplifiers / Solid State Amp on: March 20, 2007, 05:12:49 PM
I also am looking for a SS Amp and have considered the SGC.  One tip I picked up that while it is a good unit that it is slow to key up to band seeking.  This might be a problem if you use VOX operaton.  Good luck.

2  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / Yaesu FT-990 repair on: March 02, 2005, 06:06:56 PM
My FT-990 jumps a little in frequency and then jumps bank on frequency (a few seconds)  Not often yet and has only been noticed on 75 meters at this time.  Any suggestions?  The display does not change with the jump in frequency.  I believe that it may be a component on the PLL board.

Second, my auto tuner does not work.  When selecting the tuner function, the WAIT (orange light) comes on and stays on, can not clear.  Any suggestions?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, 73, Jerry <
3  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / Harmonic operation of Hamsticks on: January 12, 2003, 09:56:22 AM
Has anyone tried using a Hamstick antenna on harmonics?
IE, 40 meter hamstick on 15 meters?  What where the results?  A non loaded 40 meter antenna will work well on 15 meters as a 3/4wl antenna.  Thanks, Jerry K8gww
4  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / Mag mounts on: April 16, 2001, 09:12:31 PM
How well does an HF mobile antenna work on a single mag mount?  Would using a 3 magnet mag mount work better due to the added coupling to the car body?  Thanks, Jerry  K8gww <
