I have got to weigh in again. I use my TS590 with a legal limit (+) amp and lots of different gain antennas. It results in a top of pile up signal and a comment from the other end......"you have great audio". Mine did come with a manual which I read. Maybe that's why mine sounds good

I bought a used OMNI vll from Ten Tec three months ago. It sure did not look used and it is in perfect condition and packed like a new rig. I will add I have an ORION ll and Eagle and I find Ten Tec to be a wonderful company all the way around

I bet it was owned by a CBer who tried to tune it for 11 meters. Without the ferrite slug it will not tune. Should be easy repair and part is available from Ameritron/MFJ.

I have used my O2 with several different types of mics with no problems. Yet with the Heil headsets there seems to be a problem. What type of trouble shooting methods would lead one to believe it is the O2. You know, Ten-Tec doesn't protect the O2 from being dropped on the floor either!!

The 2KD originally did not have a choke input supply. Who knows what yours has. In addition the bridge in the amp can take the current inrush with no problems.

Well Tom, the TS590 maybe "ready" but you need lots more gear. If you want a simple solution that is equipment less, the Ten-Tec OMNI Vll is the answer. It has a true ethernet port built in.
By the way I have the Kenwood and ICOM....if you do not need the scope the Kenwood blows the ICOM away

By asking this question the way you did and the fact that current was an issue, I strongly suggest your knowledge of electronics is so limited that you do not attempt repairs or measurements on anything that has lethal voltages.
