Not sure about RS anymore... They seem to carry less and less components every time I visit them...

You will find the Molex six pin connector at Digi-Key, Mouser, Allied or Newark. It's been awhile since I ordered them so the P/N escapes me at present.

Remember to also order the pins as well. You can either crimp them with the proper crimping tool or solder...

According to the "Hooter's" website, it's alive and well... I wasn't aware of another one in Dayton... They are right up the road from where we stay...

4  eHam Forums / Hamfests / Anybody receive their '08 Hamvention tickets?? on: April 12, 2008, 03:59:17 AM
We haven't received any info regarding our fleamarket spot reservations as of yet. Phone calls to the Hamvention fleamarket office over the last several weeks have given us two different answers. The first phone call said that everything would be out starting April 1st. Ten days later we didn't receive a thing.

A second call to the office yesterday connected us to a different person who said that NOTHING has been sent out due to a complete change in fleamarket staffing and that if we want our spots from last year, we should download the form off the webpage and submit ASAP.

It appears that each year that passes, the fleamarket program becomes more and more disorganized. So, here we are scrambling again to reserve our spots from last year. All it would take is for Hamvention to announce these changes is to post it on their website and everyone would what to expect.

Looks like the Hamvention committee folks are applying lessons learned from this year's near disaster. On Monday we received a pre-Dayton Hamvention 2007 fleamarket flyer in the mail. Looks like they are making some minor changes to the east side layout as well as some pricing changes...Bright side is they are communicating early this time... let's hope they stick to their time schedule...

9  eHam Forums / Hamfests / Dayton 2006 Fleamarket Info - Nothing on Web/Mail on: March 20, 2006, 05:16:11 AM
I attended the Toledo hamfest yesterday and had an opportunity to talk with several folks that are regular Dayton fleamarket vendors as well... All have said that they have not received ANY information from the Hamvention fleamarket folks to date... I did speak with one person who said that he actually talked with someone from DARA and they told him that all fleamarket information will be mailed starting April 1, 2006. The DARA spokesperson also stated that they (DARA) are on track and on schedule... So, lets keep our fingers crossed and an eye on the mailbox after April 1st...

10  eHam Forums / Hamfests / New Thread Regarding Dayton Questions! on: February 27, 2006, 06:41:47 AM
Normally by this time, I would have received my Dayton flyer in the mail... Maybe this year they're cutting back and saving on expenses as I have not received anything yet. My main concern though is with our fleamarket spots. Normally we would have received a mailing from the fleamarket committee in January ragarding our spot reservations. Nothing heard this year at all. We finally had to go to their website and download the fleamarket form to guarrantee our spots from last year. Their website said that if you wanted your old spots, the application needed to be in by the 1st of March, 2006... Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come... Of course, the bright side might be that they are overwelmed with applications... Let us hope the sun gods are with us this year...
11  eHam Forums / Hamfests / Dayton 2006 Fleamarket Info - Nothing on Web/Mail on: February 16, 2006, 09:56:51 AM
We haven't received any info either... A quick look on the website site says that if you want to retain your spaces from last year, your request must be in by March 1st, 2006. Looks like we will have to download the application form and send it in... In years past, we have always received a packet from the Hamvention fleamarket folks...
12  eHam Forums / Digital / Tigertronics SignaLink SL-1+ on: September 21, 2004, 10:17:58 AM
I use the SL-1+ to interface my IBM 770 laptop to my FT-817. I use it for all of my Army MARS digital work. I use MixW version 2.12 and run modes PSK-31, RTTY, and MT-63. Works like gangbusters for me. Simple to follow instructions in getting it configured. I'm considering getting a second one to use with my SG-2020.

Good luck...

Apparently the folks at Ohio Army MARS must have reached there membership quota as I have not received any email response from them regarding membership. I have emailed two different MARS members requesting information about MARS groups in my area.

If there are any Ohio Army MARS members that monitor this thread, I would appreciate some info...

Hi Vince...

You might take a look at these folks...

http://www.blue-hills-innovations.com/producttop.htm

They make a variety of GPS to Radio cables for amateur APRS use. I ran across these folks at the Dayton Hamvention last year when I was configuring my Garmin StreetPilot and GPS III to TH-D7A(G) HT's. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to build the cables.

They make a very professional looking cable but be prepared to pay a premium price for it. It is well worth the price though...

Good luck...
