Here is an API link to play with. Modify the call at the end of this string to your liking.

As data sources come in, yes. FCC data import is automated on the back end now. The project is still in early development.

Keep an eye on FCCLOOKUP.COM.  In beta now, logbook API is in development.
5  eHam Forums / Elmers / Franklin antenna VS Vertical dipole on: February 10, 2009, 02:38:55 PM
I worked there for 14 years. The station is referred to as the flame thrower of the central valley. Another point of interest, KFBK installed serial number 1 of the Harris DX-50 solid state transmitter in 1989.
6  eHam Forums / Company Reviews / Hank Breedlove Antenna Mounts and accessories on: January 03, 2009, 07:36:12 PM
I asked Jerry to make a custom mount for me to use on a cruise ship to mount a heavy screwdriver antenna. After a few photos were sent and dialog exchanged via email about what I wanted it to do, he quoted me a fair price and I had him build it. When it arrived promptly, I was very pleased with the operation and construction.

Jerry's mount turned a lot of heads on the ship and it performed flawlessly.

Jason, BG5BDB has a really neat web site where you can upload your own full color custom QSL card designs. I ordered some cards for my C6AMS operation in the Bahamas in October 2008. Ordered on 21 October, 2008 and Jason says they were mailed via China Post on 8 November 2008.

It is now 3 January 2009 and I have not yet received them.

Jason is unable to provide me any news on the matter.

9  eHam Forums / Elmers / Cruise ship operation on: September 06, 2008, 08:45:52 PM
A group of us are taking a cruise on the Carnival Victory on 13 October 2008. The ship leaves Norfolk, VA for the Bahamas.

http://www.hamradiocruises.com has more information and there is still time to join us.

The group has permission to operate on board. There will be two public stations set up as and a number of us will be running stations from our balcony rooms.

Did you pay with a credit card? Call your card issuer and file a charge back claim. I've had to do this a few times in my online buying career and it got their attention every single time. I either got what I ordered or my money refunded.
12  eHam Forums / Elmers / Wire to use for 3-conductor audio jack plug on: March 18, 2007, 07:48:36 PM
If you are connecting a balanced microphone or line level signal, you will want a shielded twisted pair.

This link should help:

The only way to associate your new call with your account is to sign up as a new user under your new call. Before doing that, edit your old account and change the email address to something other than what you want to use for the new account. If you were a subscriber under your old call, let the eHam team know and we can upgrade your new account accordingly.

14  eHam Forums / Misc / Anyone Know About N5ZDA??? on: August 20, 2004, 10:27:11 PM
User 254 listed his name as Tyler C. A Tyler Chutz was recently caught trying to pass himself off as N5WSC (n5wsc@yahoo.com) saying he had permission from the licensee to act on his behalf. An email from n5wsc came to me today asking about his access.

Another ham earlier became suspicous when his lookup on N5WSC did not match what he was given as the address to send his money order to. That address was given as:

Tyler Chutz
6807 Canal Blvd
New Orleans, LA 70124

15  eHam Forums / Antenna Restrictions / What is max. heighth of pushup pole for Grid Anten on: December 31, 2003, 03:44:02 AM
The answer may well depend on how far away the provider's signal is. With this free mapping software and details about your provider's transmitter site, your can determine your needs.

If the service is provisioned properly, you may enjoy some pretty good throughput.
