1  eHam Forums / Good Seller / Buyer Beware / RE: Radio Mart Sales is a scammer on: February 12, 2013, 03:04:23 PM
Even when scammed, most of us are rational and will avoid drastic measures.

But there is always the chance that someone that is scammed will strike back.

This is an interesting story that is similar.

Murder by Internet

Chris Marquis was a 17-year-old Vermont hustler running a small-time scam online. His virtual business was going great - until somebody killed him.

(The story runs for multiple pages)

Obviously such drastic actions are wrong and people should rely on the legal system and not retribution.

Raymond - congrats on getting your license.

Also it's great that you are working at building your antenna.

Also you made a good selection for your coax. Remember that for 6 meters and even more so on 2 meters that you want to keep your coaxial lengths as short as possible.

Steve and the others will have some good suggestions for you.

Is the Radio Shack 21-534 meant to work in the 144 -148 MHz range?
4  eHam Forums / Antennas and Towers and more / RE: Zero-Five 10-40 Ground Plane vs. S9 31 foot Vertical on: September 12, 2012, 07:01:43 AM
I agree with W8JI and the others that a trap vertical would be a better and cheaper antenna for multi band use.

It's not like he has a commercial interest in the antenna you pick.

If you are really determined to use a non resonant antenna then you will need to invest in a remote antenna tuner. If you have the antenna tuner and will be installing it around trees then why not just use a piece of wire pulled up into a tree?  A piece of wire is way cheaper then something from S9 or Zero5.

Check out the Yahoo Butternut antenna group.  It seems to be fairly active and has a lot of great information.

Look around for an Apple Mini. For example I've noticed that Microcenter is running a $449 closeout special on the previous generation 2.0 GHz model.

Brand new in the box with full warranty.
1GB of RAM
120 GB Hard drive
DVD Burner
Wireless ethernet

The computer is small enough that it fits anywhere and is very quiet.
