Not sure bout the rest of ya,but I started out in CB and still run a Cobra 148 bare foot.I still like talking skip on ssb and talking local and use it for travel info. Probly is goin to talk cb rest a me life. And I have had Hams give me a hard time on 10m usb. They say I "borrowed" my call sign. So WE can be as bad as cb'ers. Just my 3 cents worth.73's

I just got my tech ticket. My wife being somewhat smarter than me saw how I only studed for about a month and passed.I suggested to her it would would be a good idea to get hers.We live in Fl and when the storms hit it can shut down cellphones. She said she wasn't interested in taking a test to use a hopped up "CB".Not pushing to hard but still trying.

I hold a tech license.Am planing on getting general soon.Looking at buying an HF mobile radio but can only use 10 meters now.Can I use a CB antenna for 10 meters for now? Or will have to have an antenna that covers all the bands the radio is made for? Any help welcome.
