1  eHam Forums / DXing / Global QSLs Service on: Yesterday at 07:27:51 PM
I just heard about this a few days ago.  I'm probably way behind on this topic.  But, am wondering if any of you have tried this service, and what are your thoughts about it.

Bigger question, does it count for DXCC yet?
Jon, that's a good question.  You might know more about that than I do.  What's your thoughts on Chad?

Tnx, Don.  Yes I tried several translators, beginning with Russian.  Guess I will send maybe 3 GS and hope for the best.
thanks, KC

Would Suggest that you remove the 2C from the case and remove each tube one at a time and spray contacts with a contact cleaner, i.e. deoxit.  Also clean the bandswitch with deoxit.

Curt, you nailed it.  Works great on all bands.  Man, that Deoxit is high at Radio S.  There must be a better source online. But it did the job.  Thanks, Keith

I got a Drake 2C off eBay.  On 80 meters it is excellent in all ways. Everything including the calibrate works perfect.  But on 40 through 10 meters it is dead.  On those bands I hear what sounds like atmospheric noise, but no signals detected, Antenna preselector does not make any difference.  I can barely hear the calibrator.   I noticed one on eBay recently that was described as good on 80 and 40, and nothing else, maybe a similar problem.   Just wonder if any of you have an idea as to where to start looking for the problem.  Any ideas appreciated. Tnx

GI30LA is a grid square.

Smiley Tnx.  Any info on that station?

(sorry, hit the enter key before i was ready).  I worked "PV0L" today on 10 meter CW.  A lot of other hams worked it as well.  And, it was also listed on DX Summit, however, it doesn't seem to be in any of the ham call data bases.  One website had it listed as PV0L (GI30LA), and that call doesn't show up on QRZ. Any info on this?

A 1960s era Coffin Key. Made in Japan and sold under brand names Skilman, Hi Mound and Lafayette. Maybe other names as well. If you haven't seen one, it is built inside a black plastic case, with a hard plastic dust cover...looks like a coffin. Google it for pics.

Blame Googleads.  THEY control their offerings to their advertizing slots on other sites--that's what they pay e-ham for, ad space.  E-ham doesn't have much of a say in what is posted.

That sounds right.  I was looking online for a Toyota Tacoma, and started noticing that a lot of web sites I went to had an ad for the Taco.  Thanks.

Why is there an ad from leggings.com on this site?  It's obnoxious-looking and doesn't seem to be a good fit. I'd be glad to pay eHam what leggings.com is paying you, but...you guessed it...I'm broke!

Have you seen the adv for "Bad Idea Shirts" here on eHam?
