eHam Forums / Site Talk / What criteria is used to "expire" articles?

Just curious...I notice a lot of articles that are fairly recent (and given how slowly ham radio can move at times, 6 months is "fairly recent") but are now locked for comment. I have been on this site in several years, and don't recall articles "expiring"...
So what is the criteria and rationale behind article "expiration"?
(I ask this question as part of my ongoing decision process to subscribe to eham.net...)

Sounds like a cookie problem.
1. Go to eham.net and log in 2. Log out immediately 3. Log back in 4. Check the forums to see if you are still logged in (hopefully!)
That did the trick. I had tried clearing the cookies/history/temp files earlier per the FAQ, but that didn't work. Cool! Maybe you should add this trick to the "Other log in problems..." section of the FAQ. Thanks...

eHam Forums / Computers And Software / RE: Beware of Ebay

Beware: There is a seller, on ebay, called SmileNtango, selling RAMs for PC, and they send defective parts, intentionally, so you will send it back, without refund, with the excuse that they have never received it back, all with the blessing of Ebay and Paypal !
FWIW, I've actually ordered RAM from these folks, for two different (and old) laptops/tablets. The RAM worked in the tablet, but the RAM for the laptop did not. They have some very explicit instructions for contacting them for a refund/exchange, and they did send me replacement RAM for the laptop. After two exchanges, I never did get any RAM to work with the laptop, sent everything back, and they issued me a credit.
That said, the process was sufficiently convoluted that I probably wouldn't order RAM from them again. The RAM they sent, BTW, looked like new RAM, not pulls from old equipment (no marks on the contacts to indicate this). In the future, I'll probably just stick with Crucial.

OK, this is weird...for some reason, I'm not able to access posting privileges in the forums here on either FF 3.5.7 or IE8. I've poured through the FAQs, cleared caches, cookies, temp files, etc. and no luck.
Strangely enough, Google Chrome works without a hitch.
Any insights? My e-mails to the various support links here have so far gone unanswered...
