Yesterday at close to 01:30z, we were able to work 9M0L on 15m RTTY for our second QSO. They were
pretty weak that MMTTY was struggling on a 3Ele yagi at 50ft. Shortly after we worked them, the sigs
went down and we could not even perform the Rx comparison between the yagi and the G5RV(for giggles).
The prop seems to drop big time between NC and FL and we have seen hams with comparable
setups able to work them from the 3 call area, but nothing heard here in NC with us just about 400 miles away.
Our recommendation for 9M0L is to stay on the same bands when the opening exists and work NA everyday
until they leave
. That would help get many unique calls in their log rather than hand out bandfills.
The band is open earlier and longer to EU and JA from 9M. So give EU/JA their fills and then tell them to
go and watch TV.
while 9M0L works NA.
