eHam Forums / Special Event Stations / Cub Scouts in Jamboree On The Air

I will be setting up a special event station at my home for a small portion of the BSA's Jamboree On The Air, Saturday, October 15. I am trying to line up some operators who would be willing to standby and respond to calls from my guys on 2m or 10m (yes, I know it will have to be locals on groundwave). I'm an Extra Class, but these guys a little young, 6-10 years old, so voice contacts will be the way to get them interested, and I have no voice capabilities for other bands.
The main thing is to get them on the air to get them interested.
Please respond here if you are in my area (close enough to make contacts) and could set up a short sked for that afternoon. My QTH is about halfway between Detroit and Ann Arbor, and I can work up to 35 watts on 2m FM into an antenna up 20ft, and 25 watts on 10m SSB, AM, or FM into a mobile antenna.
Thanks, Dean

Thanks.
The radio currently tunes only the 10m band, but starts at 28.200 and tunes continuously to 29.699. I owned one previously that I used in voice modes, and cannot remember whether it had the same range. Maybe I'll find the old manual and find out it was made this way in the past...

I obtained a Ranger RCI2950DX which does not tune the bottom portion of the band. The radio is otherwise in great condition. I wonder if Ranger had an early run that started tuning at 28.200, even though it has a CW mode. (The instruction manuals currently available DO indicate that the radio should tune the band from 28.000 up.) If not, perhaps there is a combination of buttons I can hold on startup to reset factory defaults? I did not find the information in an online version of the service manual.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks and 73, Dean
