Yea I agree I could sell and buy later which would give me some breathing room. As far as putting up a die pole or for that matter any kind of antenna its out the land lord will not even let me put up a mast not attached to the house for a 2 meter /70cm antenna i have. Guess I will just sell and hope for the best heck I might even keep the HT I have to lessen the blow of not being in the hobby at all Sad

I have had a bad 3 years but it is getting to the end. I have had to sell my radios and other stuff to make ends meet then I lost my job got a part time job but it did not meet even the smallest part of what my family needs then we lost our house and had to move in with my daughter which is more of a pain. I am left with one hf radio which I cannot put up a antenna to ( we are in a rental) I am ready to sell everything and get out of a hobby I love dearly. I guess I am asking is anybody other than me in this boat and should I go on and sell everything hoping I can get back on my feet and buy everything again or am I kidding myself just get out of the hobby or keep everything hoping it gets better. Thanks for letting me vent.

The question is did he even know he was bleeding over to 10 meter? The way some hacks set up cbs for guys I am not surprised when I read they are coming over on public service bands on fm let alone amateur bands if he knew and set up his radio to cause interference turn him in to the FCC they need the money they will get for fines.

N5VTU we think a like I am borrowing a software/ cable set up and seeing if I can reset it that way. If not a guy in Florida has a new key pad and circuit board so  I will get it from him.

7  eHam Forums / Clubs / RE: Dissappointed with the hobby and clubs so far on: January 20, 2012, 02:01:51 PM
I lived in a city ( No name) where I was treated like a outsider from day one I went to a couple of meetings and met them several times for there daily lunch outings I always was treated poorly. I talked with a couple of hams in another town close to the one I lived in and they told me they treat everyone that way if you are not from the local university. Ok I understand now its a click. I have since moved to another town and have met a few of the hams here and plan on joining the club here. They are the nicest guys you ever would want to meet. I guess some folks just want to be stand offish and want it to be us four and no more its a shame amateur radio is one of the best hobbies ever and its a shame a few mess it up for a great bunch of people.

I got a little ht that is giving me fits. I tried to turn it on the other day and it would not turn on. Took battery out put it in another vx5r I have turned right on put external power to it still no luck. Put it aside and a couple days later I put battery back in turned right on turned off and on 5 or 6 times no problems. Now the key pad does not work it does not show it as being locked but I can't use key board to try to unlock if it is locked. It won't let me reset it so I am stumped Huh any input would be great.
