I am having trouble getting my antenna tuned, I have a antron 99 antenna set up for 27mhz, I am using a MFJ 949e antenna tuner. I would like to match the antenna for 40 and 80 meters. I have downloaded and read the tuner manual.
I would assume that when you change the inductor on the tuner it should change the swr?? mine stays steady at 1.5 in SSB I get better results when I tune in CW, something also interesting I have to adjust the antenna and transmitter dials to get the SWR down to 1:1 when using the dummy load. My rig is a Kenwood TS130s
Not sure what I am missing?? Thanks for all the Help George
Thanks for all the help!! I think I found the problem. My power cord from my CB was hanging down next to the computer and causing the interference from the computer. cleaned up the wires on my desk and everything is working better. Thanks Again George
I am receiving from my computer (sounds like oscillation) what is the best way to prevent this interference other than turning the computer off? Thanks George
I found the problem... the fix: a can of contact cleaner, a little screw tightening and I made my first contact 1/2 way across the USA Thanks for all the help George
Hi I am a really new to amateur radio, I just received a old kenwood ts130s radio. hooked it up and couldn't get to much to listen to. I did find a couple stations that came in OK. My question when tuning across the band I heard sounds like oscillation that changed frequency as I tuned them in, But no station. Am I right in assuming that they are AM stations? or am I not tuning them in correctly? Something else I needed some help with is there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the power output on my radio?? (even read the manual) Thanks for the help George KJ6TSX 5 days old <grin>
