1  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / RE: Baofeng UV-3R Programming Cable = Yaesu VX-5R? on: February 15, 2013, 11:54:29 AM
The Yaesu VX-5 uses a single bidirectional data line. The Baofeng UV-3R Mk I & II with a single 3.5mm speaker/mic jack uses separate tx and rx data lines. So it will not work.

The Baofeng UV-3R plus with 3.5/2.5mm speaker/mic jacks will work with a Kenwood/Wouxun cable.

It is 3V lithium coin cell - no doubt about that.

Measure the diameter and thickness - that will tell you what CRxxxx model.

For example CR2032 is 20 mm dia 3.2 mm thick.

I know the FT-50 battery is smaller than 2032 - maybe a  1632, 1620, 1220 or 1216
