Hi Jeff,
Can I ask what specifically caused you to want to install a low-pass filter? With today's cleaner rigs and no more TV Channel 2, many hams found the LP filters unnecessary and have opted to go without them. I took mine out of several antenna runs years ago. Just a thought. Others will chime in, I'm sure.

Good point, Mark. The product just might be too new for direct user reports at this point. I might invest in one and disect it to see if I can identify the "Radio/TV filter".
Back on the RFI/EMI forum, Tisha, AA4HA, and others were discussing the new Leviton "filtered" AC wall outlets among other new products. I haven't had a chance to read all their responses, but I will.

Thanks Don, I know that. Been a ham for 50 years. My question was specifically about the new "digital touch" dimmers from Leviton. I've never replaced a dimmer in my house for ANY reason since 1997. I am just looking for an edge on the NEW "digital" dimmers from Leviton.

VERY impressive collection, Dale. Your dial and meter faces are extremely sharp and clean. Do you make new ones for yourself or have you found a vendor who does such a nice job? I found a local who made a few dial faces and he made one for my Philco cathederal restoration. That was years ago and I know the technology to replace meter and dial faces must have changed dramatically.
Great work my friend. I am envious to say the least.

eHam Forums / Elmers / Any RFI Experience with new Leviton "digital dimmer"?

I posted this on the RFI/EMI Forum some time back and only got one response. I know this Elmers forum gets more traffic, so, please pardon the OT repost. (And, yes, it's 2012 and I've stocked up on a bunch of incandescent bulbs for the cans these dimmers will control). I need to replace some old wall toggle switches in my kitchen and want to add a dimmer to a couple of the circuits involved. The new Leviton toggle switch looks just like a standard toggle wall switch but has two very small "touch pads" just to the right of the toggle lever. This looks similar to the former toggle dimmers that had a small lever in that location for dimmer preset. Leviton calls this a "digital dimmer" (digital as in "finger" I suspect). The specs claim a built-in Radio/TV interference filter. Fortunately, I have had no ham radio RFI issues with any dimmer in my house (around a dozen or so) for 15 years and would like to continue that. Has anyone had any experience with this new toggle dimmer? http://store.leviton.com/ToggleTouch-Preset-Digital-Incandescent-TGI06-1LW/dp/B004FROFJ6Thanks and 73, Terry, WØFM

WX7G: Thanks for your note, Dave. I did mention in the very last line of my post that I had prepared for the new changes by stocking up on incandescents for the kitchen. I would not invest in standard dimmers without knowing that I had the bulbs in-house. There are a number of sites on-line where you can order large quantities of incandescent bulbs for really low prices. I have a large and varied supply. Some of those sites report that they will have stock of those to satisfy customers demands for several years. (Of course, the prices just might go up! ) But, I'm all set. 73, Terry, WØFM
