Since there is no Field Day category I will post this here. In years past we always sent the Field Day Message to Section Manager using packet. The problem now is that there are no packet stations in operation in our area any more. APRS is alive and well but that does not help. I am looking for suggestions as to how others are passing the message on Field Day. Preferably something that does not involve HF since the SM lives nearby.

I unplugged the mic and it still does it. So that is not the problem. I am guessing maybe the audio circuit went bad?

Not sure what went wrong with my working Ft-7100 but all of a sudden after I transmit and turn the volume up enough to hear anything I get a loud MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (best way to describe it) Almost like feedback but no other radios are turned on. If I turn the volume way down the noise goes away but I do not hear anything. If I pug in an earphone I can then hear that the rig seems to be tripping the repeater and I can hear QSO's and the repeater tones. So I don't think the sensitivity is gone nor does the transmit seem to be gone.  I am not sure at this point if the radio is worth what it would cost to send it in to Yaesu. Could this be a rather simple fix?It has always been a reliable rig until now and I like it. Spotter season is only about 2.5 months away so I have to make some decisions. Any ideas?? N0POM
5  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / Kenwood TM-V7A receive problem on: June 21, 2007, 10:38:46 PM
No reason why the TM-V7A should not receive those freqs. I have NOAA programmed into mine and that is 162.400 and 155.745 for a local govt freq.  There are mods out there that can extend both rcv & trx but I have not gotten up enough nerve to do on mine yet  N0POM
