1  eHam Forums / Misc / Linked Repeaters? on: February 16, 2005, 01:32:27 PM
Roland,
N3ZKP has it right and if you go to the N1IMO web page you will get the info for his system. Put them all into memory and depending where you are just key the closest repeater to your location such as Hollis 146.730 minus offset PL 88.5 or the pack machine and about 5 others. You are in Bedford so give N1JDK a call since he is also in Bedford or myself in Hollis.
Hope to hear you on the air. I'll be down south from 2/19-2/27 so unless you're on 17 mtrs (18.140) you won't catch me :-)

2  eHam Forums / Misc / HF Antenna for apartment operation on: February 16, 2005, 01:16:44 PM
Hi Tom,
Go to www.bwantennas.com and check out their
model AP-10B portable HF antenna. 40-10 cont. + 6 & 2.
It clamps to a window or chair or whatever and when you're done just unclamp it until next time. I will be trying it out next week although I know already that it works on 2 mtrs. It is only about 3'long total with a big coil. Good luck.

3  eHam Forums / Misc / Headset connected to IC-706MK2G (not) on: February 16, 2005, 11:26:39 AM
Lon,
Thanks for your quick reply and correct info. Maybe if I had been a little more observant and not get so upset I would have figured it out. Now I just have to get another 1/4"-1/8" adapter since I do get a hum in the earphone with the one I found in my bag of connectors.Otherwise it works as advertized. Thanks again.

4  eHam Forums / Misc / Headset connected to IC-706MK2G (not) on: February 16, 2005, 07:45:11 AM
I have an IC-706MK2G. I bought a HEIL BM-5ic headset for it along with the presumed proper cable. I also bought a HEIL hand switch (HS-2) well, I still don't have it connected. I emailed ICOM support and wound up buying another cable that they said I needed (AC-1m)and it would work. It doesn't.Can someone tell me how to hook up the headset and hand switch to my 706MK2G?
The hand switch has a 1/4"plug the headset has both 1/4" and a 1/8" plugs. Their is nothing in the ICOM manual or the HEIL insert that shows the proper hookup.
Thanks to all who reply.
