1  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: What was the best DXpedition of 2012? on: April 22, 2013, 06:54:10 PM
This is easy for me to answer:  7O6T

A complete surprise and brilliantly executed!

I managed to work ZK3N this afternoon on 12M for a nice CW bandfill.

The CW op was first rate !

5  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: Card chaser or Award chaser? on: April 06, 2013, 07:44:04 AM
I started chasing cards and then became totally focused on
my DXCC goals.

I didn't submit anything to the ARRL until I had
300 confirmed.  That was my first personal DXCC awards goal.

At this point I'm just chasing the HR.

The only two cards I really cherish and really wanted are my P5/4L4FN and my
NA1SS / RS0ISS from the International Space Station.

If Paul and the Intrepid group are planning a "Big" announcement
this could be really exciting !!!

7  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: T33 - BANABA on: March 27, 2013, 09:19:12 AM
T33..well not an ATNO for me as I did pretty well
when T33C was QRV in 2004.

Some band fills would be nice but this one
isn't getting me any closer to the HR... Roll Eyes

Francesco had a huge signal and an equally huge pile-up
on 15M today...he just went QRT.

Two hours at the mic. and no joy from the Left Coast...hope they get on CW
tomorrow or later today.

Too much demand, too few operators..  Wink

11  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: TX5K seems to be EU only for 40M and 80M CW on: March 07, 2013, 10:52:50 AM
I've got these guys on all bands except 40M...

Last night was really brutal on 40M CW.
Listening to the pile-up I'm not surprised I didn't get through...
I could barely copy any of the calls myself.

I'll be at it again tonight..hi.

Weak but workable from the WC on 17M CW.

Good op.

I have been really impressed with the TX5K ops..
both CW and 'phone.

Q's have been pretty easy as well...7 band / modes in about three hours this past weekend.

Nice work guys!

14  eHam Forums / DXing / 4S7DXG QSL Arrived on: February 22, 2013, 10:06:14 AM
Anyone remember Ivan, 4S7DXG ?

I worked 4S7DXG back April of 2011 and though there was some
question about the validity of this operation for DXCC credit for Sri Lanka
I decided on the "work first, worry later" approach.

I promptly sent Ivan my direct QSl request.

I had all but forgotten about this QSO and QSL request as I have since
worked on confirmed 4S with complete legitimacy.

I was completely surprised when my 4S7DXG card arrived in yesterday's mail.

...still don't know if this is any good for DXCC but at least he sent the card.  Wink

15  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: 9H3FW? on: February 12, 2013, 08:16:51 PM
"9H3FW" was loud and clear on 3506 CW this evening (Feb 12 2013) at 2338UTC not too long after sunset and easy to work. Gave some QSL info which did not register with my brain for some reason.

A slim? A real Malta on 80M?

He's not shown on QRZ.com but cluster spots are indicating the the QSL route is via DK7YY.
