2  eHam Forums / Elmers / Need info for Ten-Tec Triton IV 540 on: June 22, 2004, 05:46:31 PM
I purchased a used Ten-Tec Triton with the 262ps and Shure 444 base mic last October. Right now I would like to get back into HF again using it as a mobile for 20 and 40 meters SSB. I have been looking everywhere I can think of (without calling Ten-Tec) and still have been unsuccessful in finding the information on how to wire up a 1/4" mic plug for the 1/4" jack on the back of the radio so I can put a hand mic on it. I have also been unable to find how to wire the wiring harness on the radio to the trucks battery(four black wires, one red wire). I'm sure that some people may think my question is stupid, but the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. I thank anyone who can help me out with this.

This club no longer exists due to a lack of intrest by its members. The club page is now a cb radio club page because I had more of a following with the cb club than the ten meter club. I may bring the 10 meter club back sometime, but it will be down until I find the time to make a new page and more people around here are intrested in 10 meters.

I have really rever had a problem with AES as far as damaged/opened gear is concerned. In fact, all my gear(too much to count) has been ordered through AES. I have had a problem with their online ordering though.

I ordered a Brand new Grundig YB400PE in July. I asked them to E-MAIL ME THE GROUND TRACK NUMBER. I never got a reply. I ended up calling them and I was confronted with a rude salesman who appearently thought it was a great sin I committed when I asked him about the status of my order. I eventually got the ground track number, and I was happy.

Last night (9-9-03) I ordered a 17" thin duck for my VX-1R(purchased through them) and I asked them to send me a ground track number. Guess what? Today as of eight PM CST on 9-10-03, I have still not got a response. Earlier today(3:30 PM CST) I emailed them at orders@aesham.com to get this info, yet I get no response. Once I get that antenna, I am gonna raise 8 kinds of hell about this. I doubt it will do any good, but I. want to vent my anger at the careless staff at AES

I guess AES only cares about you if you order >$4000 in gear at one time. HRO here I come. At least they may care.

DON'T BUY FROM AES!

Right now, things are kinda slow, I am hoping for more activity when the sunspots fizzle out.

Ten meters is great because it has the local talking power of CB(I have nothing against CB, infact I have one in my truck) without all the garbage and rudeness.

A NOTE FROM KB9OJS,

1. I'm not trying to copy ten-ten, TO JOIN ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS SIGN UP, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK TO 10 TEN TEN CLUB MEMBERS AND THEN SEND US A MEMBERSHIP FEE. THE ONLY OBLIGATION IS THAT YOU MUST BE A TECH/W HF OR HIGHER, OR BE INVITED BY A MEMBER OF THE CLUB.

2.The intenetions of the club HAVE NEVER CHANGED. The whole point of this club is TO PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE TO USING REPEATERS.

3.You are right, who says you can't make money off of a club. I MIGHT CARE IF WE HAD TO PAY FOR CLUB EXPENSES(CLUB STATION, MEETING LOCATION, REPEATER, ETC.)

BOTTOM LINE: THINK BEFORE YOU OPEN YOU'RE MOUTH.

The club will be using Ground Wave at night when the band is dead. We will be using the ionosphere during the day to talk to our freinds around the USA. Our primary goal is to promote local 10 meter use as an alternative to the repeaters. Since we just started up, we are looking for anybody who would like to join us, even if it means we can only talk to them during the day.

Hope that clears some things up,
