1  eHam Forums / Special Event Stations / For all portable and special event call stations please read on: August 02, 2012, 02:27:03 PM
I get several eqsl`s each month from stations who were portable/mobile or were using a special event call not their home station call but they send out eqsl with home call which I reject because it is not the call sign in my logbook you were using at the time we worked. Please guys create a linked account at eqsl with your portable or special call sign. Log into your eqsl account go to the home page, my accounts, create new account (middle lower page). This new account will be linked to your home call sign.

I want to confirm our contact but it must be the call sign you were using when we made contact. Thank you for reading post just wanted to get this off my chest.

3  eHam Forums / Elmers / Lightning Safety Ground and AC Service Ground on: August 21, 2006, 06:08:56 AM
To protect against lightning damage yes you need to add a direct ground rod and tie everything together. And if possible use more than one ground rod. And this is from experience with grounding systems.

4  eHam Forums / Elmers / Mosely TA33 Traps on: February 23, 2003, 07:32:09 PM
Couple of thoughts: You have something loose in the driven element it could be where your coax connects or one of the traps. Other possibility and this happened to me with a mosley beam. Where the screws that hold the wire in the traps screw into the material the insulator is made of has arched from the screw end to the element running thru the insulator. Moseley left some of the shavings in the drilled out screw hold and this had arched over creating a carbonized area or trail to the element.
I guess you could get moiture in the traps and cause this also
5  eHam Forums / Elmers / Best new/used transceiver around $600? on: February 27, 2001, 07:37:24 AM
I think the Yaesu FT102/FV102DM combination would also fit this catagory except for the fsk part. Just be sure the relays have been changed and only get the unit if you can the remote VFO with it. Its a excellent radio.
