Precisely Field Day does it for me too...
Whenever a toilet flushed I could swear I was in the middle of a pile-up.

David,
You crack me up!
The peak should be around 2012 - just in time for the world to end...........73 K1WJ
My wife must have watched the same History channel show that you watched...Now she is telling me that we should start blowing our saved money now, because there is no later...

eHam Forums / Computers And Software / SignaLink USB & CW Interface

Hello Folks,
I have a Yaesu FT 450 and the SignaLink USB. My SignaLink is hooked to the DATA port of the '450. This works great for Digipan and PSK work, as the rig needs to be set to USB-DATA to work, but how do I use the SignaLink in this configuration for CW?
Thanks for any help.
Marc

K9FON,
I sure hope you are right...CW is a bit sparse these days... Marc
IMHO ham radio is alive and well. Its just right now we are in a low spot sunspot wise. Just wait. In a few years when the sunspots are starting to pop (Hopefully soon) there will be people to talk to on all bands. Then all this talk of ham radio dying will go away because we will all be busy making DX contacts!!!!!!!! :-)

Hello CW Ops.
What happened to ARRL's push for allowing increased bandwith for digital and RTTY communications to be increased to 3kHz?
I hope the measure was withdrawn or shot down by the FCC.
I tried to leave a comment, but the FCC site says that this proposal "is not open for comment", even though there were 2000+ folks listed. I did everything correct, so I wonder if it was either ditched, the site is taking no more comment, or the FCC site is having isssues.
Any update you know about?
Thanks, Marc

Hello Dan,
I have a 80 M horizontal loop up 20 feet.
I will get my portable SW radio out, tune to a birdie frequency and hopefully I will find the bugger(s) causing the problem. I hope it is inside my house. I will not be going to my neighbors house asking them if I can sniff around their stuff. They would freak out.
Regards,
Marc

Thanks N5LRZ.
I am thinking that perhaps the smartest thing to do first is to merely get a low pass filter. That alone may solve the problem. I see on eBay that they can run under $10.

eHam Forums / CW / Percent of new operators using CW

Probably 2% (a guess)
Average age of CW operator: 70 years old (a guess)
Therefore, CW will be basically dead in 20 years (two more sun spot cycles).
I love CW. I wish the young operators would come to CW. It is my favorite mode, and the ops are top-notch.
