I can forward you a list of deployment equipment that I have in my pack for the 72 hour callout if you wish.
I al so have it in palm doc form as well as checklist form to make sure I have everything.

I am running APRS CE on a jornada 680 with a handi packet from paccomm and a FT-411 from Yaesu with no problem. I have however run pocket APRS but that does not allow a keyboard. I have found Jornadas on ebay for less than $200. If you have any questions let me know and I will see if I can answer them.
