Thanks for the insight, humor, and the words of wisdom.  I couldn't think of a better bunch of folks to run with.

Hi,

I am new to ham radio and have little experience communicating "properly" on the air (so I listen allot for now). I just ordered my first VHF/UHF mobile (I have used a handheld up to this point) radio and would be very interested in learning the "best practices or techniques" of interacting with others over the air (specifically on the 2m band). Is there a forum (or article) that I could review (& printout) summarizing the most important points to practice concerning etiquette? I would also like to share (& reference) it with others I meet that are new to ham radio and may need a tutorial on the basics so that we can continue the fine tradition of those preceding us in this fine hobby.

Thanks for the help,

Walt

Hi,

I would be interested in hearing more about specific locations where equipment is needed and the organizations involved. - W
