93  eHam Forums / Antennas and Towers and more / RE: Notebook Antenna ? on: January 27, 2012, 03:10:10 PM
This is one of those sits, you can lose time in, you know like being abducted by UFO, look at the small indoor travel antennas.  One is a 12.7 ft doublet that covers 10 to 40 meters with tuner ,that can fit in a notebook, the other is a small loop.

99  eHam Forums / Licensing / RE: The Influence of Radio Amateur Dealers and Manufacturers on the Licensing Scheme on: January 21, 2012, 10:36:32 AM
The license should not really be testing that you know how to make successful use of the kit, just that you know how to stay within license conditions and how to avoid interference to others. In this, most digi modes are broadly similar, so why license per mode?

regards, Dan.
I agree Dan.
100  eHam Forums / QRP / RE: 600 meter band 500 Khz's allocation coming? on: January 20, 2012, 02:43:27 PM
Our US State Dept. has sent a proposal to Geneva,  recommendation a secondary allocation of 15 KHz' wide, for the Amateur service at 461 to 469 and 471 to 478 KHz's  in  5 channels. The Europeans proposal  is for a 8 KHz's  wide band allocation between 472 to  480. These proposals should be decided by Feb 17,012? Note:This is for 600 meters band at or around 500 khz,s.
101  eHam Forums / Licensing / RE: The Influence of Radio Amateur Dealers and Manufacturers on the Licensing Scheme on: January 20, 2012, 02:14:17 PM
When it comes to an Amateur license, we should ask what we need to know, and not what we should know? I think in the future Our license well need sceptred endorsements , for different type of digital modes, and in the way future and to work Mars and the Moon?He HE

103  eHam Forums / Emergency Communications / RE: Which distress/ Mayday frequencies? Anybody monitoring? on: January 18, 2012, 02:20:30 PM
What is almost laughable is that with all the prep FEMA and ECCOM folks do, little do they figure out what common mode of communications nearly each and ever delivery truck in the nation has, a CB radio.

Mike
I have seen the FEMA list for HF, and its kept secret ,and shouldn't be talk about, now that was about 20 years back.
