I have found the following site, if gives details of altering the coverage of the Sangean by means of moving diodes.

Details of restoring SSB is not covered but there could be clues, when you examine the PCB.

Just don't "kill" the screw core in the VCO block.

Dont worry about it, I have had my ticket since 1987 and I still get questioned when my callsign has failed to appear on some database or other.
