After all this time, I never heard back from Yaesu.  I have heard from others who have received excellent service from HRO, it's too bad Yaesu can offer a good product but has slipped on customer satisfaction.

Don Pinson of Orting Washington ripped me off. W6HFS aka AA7DP

We were suppose to trade my Icom 706MK2G, an ALS 500 Mobile amp, plus my Hf antenna for his Brand New Icom 7000 he bought the day after Christmas........Well never got it !! Don "spaced", didnot want to ship it?, My stuff was all broken? Oh he then said he jmumped to conclusions made a mistake its OK? says did ship it but must be lost?, doesn't know anything about it? Doesn't want to talk to the post office, Not his problem. (US Post Office told me nothing ever shipped) Ripped OFF by Donald Pinson, Like many others here, he has ripped off me and many others, do not do any business With Donald Pinson W6HFS.........

I even offered to pay for all shipping if he would just return my stuff!!!

But why would he, it all worked great and was FREE I guess, he never sent anything like he said.........Just ripped me OFF !

When dealing with Donald Pinson it seemed normal, until you finally realize your never getting what you supposely traded for, then he is a different person when you deal with him..

Oh Yeah, he said he just could not wait to get my stuff !!!!

Heck by now he must have stole enough stuff to refurbish his entire shack......

Donald Pinson W6HFS stole my radio, amplifier, and mobile antenna........

Don Pinson has changed his call sign for some unknown reason ?   His new FCC Call is

AA7DP       So he can change his call to AA7DP, but don't be fooled by Don Pinson> Its really  aka W6HFS

I never got my radio equipment back, the police in Orting Washington are to busy with other crimes they told than to chase after every internet rip off.   But they did go and visit Don, each time they did, Don would call and say he would make things right, but after several days Don would forget about he told me and the police.

He would actually chuckle and say he would have  send my stuff back but he sold it all.

So beware, Please learn from my mistakes don't deal with AA7DP     Don Pinson AKA W6hfs

Don Pinson   W6HFS   He says the Icom was lost somewhere in the postal service, but the postal service told me and the local police, that there is no trace of any package even being shipped. Don had $500 insurance on this radio, Yeah he paid about $20 for a piece of paper that says he paid for shipping and insurance, but the $20 he paid, I guess it bought him all my equipment>>>>> The post office to give him a dime, "because there is no evidence it ever made it to any post office........Hummm So where did it go ?
The local police working and Pierce County Sheriff department have been calling him and visiting him......Each time they talk to Don, He talks to me saying he is going to send money, then send me a Heathkit, he said he has to wait for social security check to send it....when I ask where is it....No answer......I see him selling radio equipment no on Craigslist in Seattle WA.
An ALS 500 mobile amp.....   OH  Why don't Don just send my stuff back Huh
He says he can't he sold all that stuff right away...he told me he wanted it for mobile operation, ready to go, I guess he meant for someone else, I thought he meant him.....

How does Don do it ?   Well he likes to offer less than half the money of what he stole, if you will just say everything is fine and remove all your postings, less than half price of what he owes, he may find a way to pay something>>>

So Don, No I don't want a just a piece, less than half of what he owe me, I won't pull my posting for a few bucks, so for all you others, this is how Don Pinson tries to get unfavorable postings removed....BEWARE.  NICE Business huh...

Yes I did file a Internet Crime Report.

Yes I did file a RIPPED OFF REPORT

YES I Did call the postal inspector

Yes I did file a report with my local police

Yes I did file a report with Piece County Police Department.

And , Yes I have traded with many other hams, this is the only time I was ripped off

Lesson learned, only use pay pal, it may cost a few bucks, but you have a recourse to get your money back....better than nothing....or trade face to face.

10  eHam Forums / Company Reviews / Brand New Yeasu Fdx 9000 MP Poor Service on: November 26, 2011, 08:00:35 AM
I purchased the 9000 MP from HRO. After setting the 9000MP up I tested it, I had reports of maybe RF or some noise on my signal. I put the radio on a dummy load and and listened on a SDR 1000 receiver with a panadpter. When the radio was keyed without a mic connected and the mic input on rear 8 pin connector, there was obvious noise on the signal with nothing connected to any audio input. When switching to the front XLR connector, there was no noise at all, the tech I talked to said there has to be a problem with the connector some how, since the audio goes to a common point then goes to each audio input, since it was only one input with the problem, it must be at the connector. I made a You TUBE video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YI8h7phDIVg ). I contacted Yaesu repair, told them what I heard, hoping I could make a reset or something to stop the problem, this is right out of the box, brand new, what a disappointment. The tech said it needs to be returned Sad I made arrangements and sent it back. Intially I asked for my money back, Yaesu said they need to inspect the radio to see if I tampered with it and broke it.....I waited, as I waited for them to call back I called them and said after inspection I would like another NEW radio sent to me. Later with in a week I received a call from the Yaesu tech, who said they seen the video but had problems duplicating "all" the noise what they heard and seen in the utube video, they asked if I had the mic gain to high ? I said it was set for about the 10 o clock position...After this I asked again for a new radio to be shipped. The Yaesu rep said only the VP Dennis can authorize a new radio to be shipped.........From this point on I never got to talk to the rep again, I left many messages for him to call, give an update, I even had HRO involved to see if they would contact me with information....After more than a month, HRO contacting them, HRO with out an explanation either, I asked HRO for a full refund, since we could not get Yaesu to respond.... HRO did worked hard with me, made many phone calls, and refunded my money within 24 hours after requested.....We know the radio is not cheap....
I have own many a Yaesu during my 30 plus years of Amateur Radio, no one to call at Yaesu, the VP Dennis and the Yaesu Rep, just could not be found when called, only answering machines, no return calls after initial return. Disappointed beyond words....... So Gratefull that HRO stands behind there word, HRO has earned my business always, very reputable dealer, made calls after hours to try and get it resolved, worked closely with me on resolving on either getting a new radio replacement or getting my money back, it took more than a month to finally get my money, but never a call from Yaesu offering any words of any kind......I guess they really don't need everyones business, I thought I would get first class treatment, instead I got the worst service
from any company ever.....Imaging having them represent your company ?
Or maybe the VP was just busy to care about his customers who already paid for their radio.?

KUDO's to HRO   Thank you so much for being a reputable dealer....

Jeff,

Something sounds a little confusing to me, can you provide a picture of the tuner, front and back ?
