1  eHam Forums / Amplifiers / ATP-102 and AL-811H on: April 17, 2013, 02:19:41 PM
Hi everyone,

I acquired a good used Ameritron ATP-102 Tuning Pulser II.  I want to use it to tune up my AL-811H.  Does anyone know the proper combination of adjusting the pulse rate and duty cycle for this unit?

Thanks for any and all replies,
Tom, N8EUI

Great information.  Thank you both for your replies.

3  eHam Forums / Digital / Digipan and PSK31 power Output on: April 15, 2013, 02:31:49 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the digital modes.  I'm hoping for an answer to a couple of questions.  When I'm setting up to operate PSK31 using Digipan, I set my rig output to maximum and then click on "tune."  From there I set my Signalink for about 30 watts out.  However, when I click on transmit, my output goes to about half, (15 to 16 watts).  Is this normal operating procedure?  My second question is for PSK31 power measurement: Do I measure my power output in the "tune" mode or transmit mode?

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

You are very correct.  The back of the scope and manual shows exactly that.  I'll attempt to patch it in per your directions.  Thank you for your patience and expertise. Smiley

Hi KB1NXE

Please excuse my ignorance, but if I patch my Rig > Scope > Amp > Scope > Watt Meter > Tuner, how do I loop the scope back to the amp and then to the wattmeter?  There are only two so-239 connectors on the back of the scope, one is connected to the incoming rig and the other is connected to the amp input.  Maybe I misread your suggestion.  I'm a little confused.

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

Thanks WB2WIK for the reply, correction and definition.  So to be accurate, how would I patch it into my station chain?  I have my transceiver, amp, wattmeter, automatic antenna tuner (with an onboard wattmeter) and antenna.  Where will the monitor scope fit in?

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

Wow, great information everybody.  The spectrum analyzer is a Yaesu YO-301.  I purchased it at an estate sale a few weeks ago.

Thanks,

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the replies.  I want to set up Echolink in Sysop mode to connect my 2 meter rig to the internet.  I'll take a look at the link N4UFO sent and try that.  I don't think there is too much to make it happen, I just don't want to get in so deep that I mess things up.

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

Hello everyone,
I've added some additional equipment to my station.  I'm also rearranging my station setup and I have a question:  Given my transceiver, amp, wattmeter, spectrum analyzer and antenna tuner, in what order do I patch them in?

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

Hey there everybody,
Thanks for the replies.  I'll dive into it this weekend and see what happens.  I may be making a mountain out of a molehill here.  We'll see.

Thanks again,

Hello everyone,
I have a Linksys WRT54G router and I want to configure it for Echolink.  I've read the instructions on the Echolink website, but I'm still gun shy.  Will someone please tell me in detail how to do this?  Also, when I type in "ipconfig" to see what my IP address is, I get an IP address and a default gateway address that are identical except for two digits at the end.  What's the difference and which one should I be concerned about for configuring the router for Echolink?

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI

15  eHam Forums / Digital / Monitoring PSK31 signal output on: January 17, 2013, 12:49:55 PM
Hi all,
I recently acquired a very clean Yaesu YO-301 monitor scope in excellent working order.  Just wondering, can this scope be used to visually monitor the quality of my PSK31 signal output?  I have it setup to monitor my SSB transmissions.  Conventional wisdom would have it PSK31 transmissions can be monitored, too.  Correct?

Thanks,
Tom, N8EUI
