eHam Forums / APRS / KPC 9612 noise
|

I have a 9612 that makes lots of noise on the APRS frequency. It emits a hissing noise that covers up all but the loudest signals, and the noise goes away immediately as soon as the TNC is turned off. The noise changes a little bit depending on what the TNC is doing, but never goes away.
Is there any way to fix this?

A week or two ago, I heard random CW characters sent in five letter groups at around 10.125 MHz. Does anyone know what that is about?

eHam Forums / Elmers / 706 transmit problem

There has been an odd transmit problem on 15 meters with my 706. When I tune at low powers, the power output shoots up to 100 watts whenever the SWR reaches 1:3 or higher. It also transmits intermittently on that band.

I do not own either of those, but I would go for the K2. It is much more satisfying to build and put your own radio on the air than to buy one already built.

When in down in the CW portion on 40m, I hear hams talking using SSB starting on 7.050. Who or what is this?
