Just got my new Kenwood TM D700A today from HRO Virginia. FAST shipping (two days ) from order to delivery to Illinois. Tracking numbers and email order confirmations always something I like. Hats off to Bill over there. They will get my repeat business!

N1ESC,Hello. Read your post. I am getting a D700A and was looking at the Garmin GPS V for use with it in my car. What do you use to connect the two and how do they work together. I am anxious to hear your comments/advice. Thanks es 73.

I am new to GPS and would like to know basically what the kenwood D700A does when attached to a gps receiver. Does the rig act as a receiver? Do you need a separate receiver to connect to the rig and why? Why not just use a gps receiver in the first place? I guess I am just wondering why use the rig and a separate gps unit. I do not understand the connection between the two. Thanks es 73.

Three words, "Don't do it." More and more scam artists out there with misleading ads too. Handling and packaging is NOT shipping. Pay CLOSE attention to the wording of the ads....Even hams are screwing other hams. Now as ever,"Buyer beware".

This Guy is a ham, cant remember call but WATCH OUT for him too. If on ebay,STAY CLEAR.. I got a used TM G-707A from him in MINT condition. Well, I guess MINT means Broken and missing knobs, unit NOT operational, none of the buttons or knobs that remain work! Box arrived with bottom open and NO packing material whatsoever!!! When confronted by email I sent he blamed ME for rushing him to send radio and that's why it arrived the way it did.....I am since filing a claim with ebay but looks like it will cost me more to have it appraised by an electronic repair service to prove what condition I got it in. please stay clear of this guy. How could a ham do this to another ham? Buyer beware applies everywhere and to Hams also.........

Recently purchased a small and inexpensive item from them. Ordered it online. They had the lowest price in this case, are higher on some other items. Only thing is I would have liked to know what the shipping charges were before I saw the packing slip that came with the item. They were only about $3.00 more and I needed the item anyway. Still, would have been nice. Otherwise, ordered on line and packing, delivery time, and use of their tracking # was all GREAT. FAST delivery(probably the reason for the charge) altho I was not in any hurry. Arrived in Illinois in TWO days. I would recommend them and probably will use them again if they still have the lowest price on what I want.

This is a retraction to my original statement. I was "all wet" with regard to the time stated. It appears that it was only about two weeks since I sent the mount in and I called back. My apologies to those at newtronics. If you think no-one reads these statements we input-"you are wrong". The folks at newtronics called me after seeing my first review to set me straight. And they did so in a very professional manner. "Jo" at newtronics especially is courteous and thoughtful. Everyone I spoke to there was VERY professional and courteous. Again, I apologize and I tip my hat to you folks.

Bought a RX-2 from HRO. After two weeks the mag mount came apart. Called HRO and sent mount only to newtronics for repair. More than a month later I call and they say there was a "nut missing" which caused the center thread to come loose from the base. They said they would ship it back. Took a month to find a missing Nut? ? Still do not have it back. I feel sorry for the Hustler name that used to mean quality and service.

Ordered a Diamond Mobile mag mount antenna from them last week. At first they did not seem in any hurry to process my order. Gave them all my information and it turns out that early this week it arrived. I WAS SURPRISED. So their response to my order was FAST and the packaging was excellent. I heartily reccommend them. Staff is courteous and knowledgable and I called them to tell them so and to thank them for the fast service.

Hayduke, wellcome to ham radio. You will probably get as many opinions as there are hams,Hi! I myself have had Kenwood mobile rigs for about 15 years now and have NOT had any problems with any.Same goes for my HT's. Do you want a single or multi-band radio? I recently purchased a TM-271A 2 meter rig and love it. Most of the newer rigs now are a lot smaller than they were 15 years ago and probably would fit nicely on a motorcycle. Of course, you can check dealers and ebay for used "boatanchors" which in most instances would be cheaper. Every ham has his/her own favorites, which is good. Hope this helps you a little.73,John.

Had my first experience with HRO this week. Ordered a new 2 meter rig from the delaware store and an antenna to go with it. The rig came from Ga and the ant from Va. Customer service was GREAT. Helped me match ant to rig within my budget and answered all my questions as if "I" mattered to them. Tracking numbers were a great help and items arrived safe and on time! Excellent company to deal with in every way. Who said that customer service was dead? These folks believe in service.

Thanks Mark. I will only be using a two meter rig in my "old" auto but still do not like to drill holes. Want to see how others are running their coax,John.
